You can rent a room for $65 a night for 1-2 people, $20 a night for additional persons.
A beautiful large house in the Monterey Bay area. 3 bedroom, 2.5 bath with large kitchen, wireless internet, washer/dryer, and plenty of free street parking (or driveway parking). The primary room for rent is a private bedroom upstairs with a queen bed works well for 2 people. It has a closet and a full size dresser in it as well as large windows. There is a private bathroom next to the bedroom. Guest room includes toiletries. There is a second bedroom next to it with a queen size double mattress futon.
There is plenty of space in the rest of the house also if you have additional guests that would like to sleep on air mattresses. The entire house is 2200 sq. ft. with plenty of space to hang out or chat. No pets are allowed. No smoking inside the house, but outside on the patio is fine.
The weather here is beautiful year round, and usually a few degrees warmer and less foggy than immediately on the coast.
The house is in a nice and quiet established neighborhood on the west side of town. A park about a minutes’ walk away. About two minutes driving to the 101 (it cannot be heard from the house though), 15 minutes to the ocean, 25-30 minutes drive to Monterey and maybe 5 more to Carmel. It is about 45 minutes driving to Santa Cruz depending on the time of day and about 90 minutes drive to San Francisco. Other nearby attractions include Steinbeck Center, Pinnacles National Monument, wine tasting in the Salinas Valley or Carmel Valley, Elkhorn Slough, Monterey Bay Aquarium, Big Sur and California State University - Monterey Bay campus.
We are a married couple who have lived in Salinas for three years and in Monterey County for eight years. We have a newborn baby as well! We both work for non-profits and know the area and community well if you have any questions. We have each lived abroad and traveled extensively in the United States and internationally.
Guests are welcome and encouraged to sit and talk with us in our living area if they are interested. If you would rather stay to your self in your room, that is ok too.
David and Nina were wonderful hosts....very welcoming and helpful. Our stay was brief, but we were happy to have use of both rooms upstairs. The location was convenient and quiet and the queen bed and futon were very comfortable.
This was my 2nd Airbnb experience and it was much better than the first due to the cleanliness in the room. The room is neatly decorated, has a soft/comfy double bed and has a private bath. Sadly we were out and about for most of the time during our short stay here and didn't get to spend time in the room. David and Nina were both very helpful and were always happy to answer any questions that we had about Salinas, Monterey, Big Sur and also LA. Thanks to them we found the beautiful Julia Pfeiffer Burns State Park and had a lovely day hiking.
Thanks David and Nina we had a lovely and peaceful stay.
We spent two peaceful nights at David and Nina's house. It was a perfect place to rest while we trekked to big sur in the daylight hours. They are excellent hosts! Looking forward to our next visit someday.
Great place to stay, quiet and comfortable. Make sure to peek out the window and check out the chickens!
David and Nina's room was tidy and lovely. The bed was comfortable. We also ended up getting two rooms because Nina invited us to use the nursery which had a futon in it. That was a nice surprise bonus! Nina and David were really nice and Nina especially gave us a lot of information about our travel plans.
We only stayed for one night, but David and Nina were both super sweet and helpful! They told us places that we could check out in Carmel, Monteray and Big Sur. And they were also helpful in terms of suggesting places to see in LA as we continued our Cali road trip south. They also have the calmest baby ever. Didn't hear him cry once while we were there.
The rooms are spacious and there is a clean private bathroom. This is a good place to stay!
This was my first Airbnb experience and I must admit I was nervous because I did not know what to expect. I had read many reviews about David and Nina but I was still not convinced. Let me say that everything in David and Nina's place was as advertised. There were no surprises at all. The place is neat and well taken care off. The pictures in the website do not tell the whole story because the bed is extra comfortable and the place is quite. You will not regret if you choose this place. David and Nina are pleasant and great host's and they made us feel at home. The moment we stepped into their house we felt as if were among friends. I highly recommend their place.
We had a soft bed and warm conversation. If you like good tacos, go to Papa Chevo's in Monterey.
We had great communication from David, and had no problem finding their house. They generously allowed my son to have his own room, for no extra cost, as they had no-one else staying at the time. They are a lovely couple, with a gorgeous new son, from whom we barely heard a peep (and that was only a happy chirrup). Their house is wonderfully comfortable, in fact they were the most comfortable beds we have stayed in this trip. And they have a great range of books and board/card games, we wished we could have had longer to play some of them. Thank you Nina, David and Colfax for a great stay.
He was very kind and clean! We have been traveled california no.1 road. This place is proper to take a break time for road trip. Very close to wine farm and there were many cheap price fruits.
