Interaction with Guests
It is always a treat to meet guests at checkin, visit with them in the garden or even share a glass of wine. Alternatively, it is not unusual for guests to check themselves in & out with communications all by text. Although I miss meeting them in person, this method works remarkably well too.
I often travel for work & fun. If I am out of town, there is always a "property manager" available on site.
Hyde Park is close to downtown, UT, 6th street and all the other "action". But it is an historic neighborhood one hundred year old homes with large trees and lively gardens; making a quiet get away.
We are 1 block from the 1 or 5 bus routes that go right downtown & run every 10 minutes. We are also on the UT free transit bus.
Getting here from the airport:
Taxis run between $25-30 and is fast.
Supershuttle is a minibu that is shared with 2-3 other peopIe, costs about $15 and is medium slow.
The city bus #101 is only $1 and very slow.
I highly recommend Car2Go - a shared vehicle service as an alternative to renting a car. You can even get them to and from the airport (costs about $10). but you have to sign up in advance.
Other Things to Note
What to expect.
We really want you to have a great stay & go out of our way to make it happen. But we are not a hotel, so there is more chance of unexpected things happening, both good & bad.
The nearest hotels are a Double Tree & La Quinta & the rooms cost twice as much. They are in the middle of government buildings with few nearby attractions.
The apartment is walkable to loads of fun things and is in a tree filled neighborhood.
However, with hotels you know exactly what you are getting & there are no surprises.
Make yourself at home!

Tracy was very helpful and responsive during the weekend. The neighborhood is great, as well as the off-street parking. Very close to Guadalupe street, I-35, Mopac, but also very quiet (aside from the birds in the morning...can't do much about that though!). I will definitely stay here again on my next trip to Austin.
Tracy’s place is SO cute and very clean; perfect for our stay!! She was prompt when replying to emails, very sweet, and laid-back about checking in and out. If we were relocating to Austin, we would have liked to move in :)
Nice place, just as described.
Walking distance from some cool spots.
Tracy was very nice.
Our stay with Tracy was awesome. The place was everything and more we were expecting. Tracy was great, there were no issues with anything, we used many of her recommendations that she left for us. Would definitely stay here again anytime I'm in Austin, highly recommended.
Lovely, little mother-in-law suite amongst the treetops, with loads of ambient light. Felt very comfortable here; feels a bit better than the photos would suggest.
Located in a pleasant, leafy neighborhood, we easily walked to Black's BBQ, passing oak lined lanes and parks along the way.
Apartment was clean and well-appointed; with coffee grinder and beans (my personal favorite feature!). Kitchen even offers ability to cook. Bathroom and bedroom spacious and well-lighted also.
Tracy was most gracious, receiving us in the common lush backyard. She's been most helpful throughout, and we'll definitely stay here again.
Great little apartment and wonderfully helpful and gracious host. We were very comfortable during our stay. The bed was so soft and the sheets were clean and crisp. Tracy was very accessible during our stay, helping out with little things as needed, but not intruding at all during our stay. And don't be concerned with the low price. This place is really a steal for what you get compared to nearby Airbnb properties. I highly recommend staying here.
Great stay at Tracy's apartment for a long weekend in Austin with my family. Perfectly located and close to everything we wanted to do while in town.
Although we never actually got to meet Tracy while in town, she was very responsive to all communications ahead of our arrival and got us in to the apartment on time with no issues.
Highly recommend for anyone visiting Austin...
