We learned a new word! Glamping: hot water, flush toilet, shower, and a full kitchen in an adorable, spacious trailer! This place is amazing, I almost want to keep it a secret! Our dogs swooned for the host's big Bouvier dogs, all the animals were amazing! The only thing we would do different is bring all of our groceries. The second you get there you don't want to leave. We hiked, ate fresh eggs, hung out with horses and goats. A little piece of bucolic paradise right here in LA County! It is magical!
Tip: the place is fully equipped for a trailer, we brought way too much gear. There was literally a bouquet of blankets
The only reason I wouldn't recommend this place would be if you're afraid you'll get obsessed with owning an Airstream yourself and setting it under stars in an insanely beautiful place with wandering goats and horses, a hiking trail, etc. Because for me, at least, now I can't shake the idea. Totally comfortable place to stay, too; a really fun experience.
A wonderful peaceful hillside haven. Murray is kind and sweet and they have made it a very cozy spot. He even let us stroll down to the chicken coup in the morning and grab some fresh eggs. Goats and horses also on the property, you certainly feel in touch with nature. The airstream itself is exactly as pictured, the fridge doesn't work but Murray brought ice in a cooler, also charge your phones before you get there, as the plugs didn't seem to work either. There is a shipping container on the plot, which I believe holds a generator or some kind of power for the airstream, but it really doesn't bother you too much. It feels more like camping than a hotel stay, and bring layers as it gets chilly at night, but if you are game for a fun time and don't mind driving off road a little, it's right up your street. Very fair for the price. We had a blast.
Great, quiet, rustic place to stay. Loved it.
Brought my girlfriend here for her birthday. It is the perfect place for a relaxing quiet night surrounded by beautiful nature in a very cozy environment. Murray is very accommodating and his dogs are awesome. I'm certainly coming back to spend more than one night.
I have to admit, when we first booked the airstream, I was looking forward to a luxurious hotel for our 20th anniversary. But my husband persuaded me to do something different, and we went ahead and booked. To my delight, we had the most restful and wonderful three days at Murray and Kays property. Immediately after we arrived, I was greeted by seven beautiful, very special goats that were timid at first and then surrounded me and let me pet them. I felt as if God had come down and tamed them just for me.
What stays in my mind most was the quiet of the property. I forget all the noise that I live with every day until I sat there and looked out at the beautiful mountains, and heard nothing but birds and bees, chickens and squirrels. It was truly magic. Then, after an outing that went into the night in town, we returned to find the trees lit up with magical orbs, stars burning brightly in the sky, and fresh eggs ready for us the next morning.
If you are looking for something different, off the beaten path, a place to get quiet and reflect, this is the perfect place for you.
Thank you Murray and Kay, this was a much needed break. We will be back. Sincerely, Mika & Greg
My friends and I had a great time relaxing and hiking. It was a great plus that my dogs could come as well. Murray was very helpful and we got to enjoy some fresh eggs that he gave us. I would recommend this location to anyone looking for a little getaway! There is a big shipping container like structure not pictured and would be even more beautiful if it was out of sight! But even with that it was an experience I'll never forget. Don't leave dirty dishes! :)
Murray and Kay are the best. An absolutely perfect experience. The Airstream and the property are amazing. Nothing can be the sunset up there. We had the best time celebrating our engagement. We will back for many more visits.
We stayed at Murray's 1971 Airstream over the weekend as a bday surprise for the bf. Overall, we had a fun time and enjoyed the chickens, goats, and other creatures that roamed the property. My corgi loved the experience. The bed was super comfortable and the shower was great.
Please be aware that the bed doubles as a dining room table so with the bed set up (all the time) you will not have a dining table to eat on. There's a nice dining area set up outside but the weather was too cold for us to use. The road to the property is really windy so try to avoid night driving if at all possible.
I did expect the Airstream to be "restored' to slightly better condition than it was in. For example, some light knobs were missing, the "handle" one of the shades had fallen off, the door was hard to close, the "door" to the area below the stove was held up by foil, the fridge didn't work (Murray brought ice and a cooler), and the heater started blowing cold air in the middle of the night the first night and we couldn't figure out how to solve the problem. None of these problems were a big deal and Murray was helpful but I just wanted to point those out so you know what to expect.
Wow. Two days in the airstream and all we can do is think about getting our own airstream and our own herd of goats! Murray was very helpful during check in and then left us to enjoy his beautiful land. We will definitely be back again someday. P.s. We found the bed to be very comfortable!
