My parents and a few aunts stayed at Diane's house for several days, and they had a great time. The house is charming, and it stayed relatively cool even during the heat of the day in mid June. Diane was very attentive and had pretty specific instructions for check in and check out as well as for various dos and don'ts for the house. My parents really enjoyed the house, and it's also a great location. My mom went on walks around the neighborhood checking out all the flowers. Like the Carmel of South San Fran. Nice batch of restaurants and one really good beer bar on Laurel street just blocks away.
We felt most welcome from the very first minute we made contact with Diane here on Airbnb and over the phone. The house was in amazing condition when we came and everything was 100% prepared for guests. The neighborhood is really family-style, quiet, and truly safe. San Carlos generally turned out to be a particularly nice area to live in the Bay area. The house is just like it looks in the listing and we had a truly great time living there for a bit over two weeks.
We had a wonderful stay at this house. The home itself was ideal for our family (2 adults and 2 kids - ages 3 and 6), with three very nice bedrooms, a great kitchen, and a very cozy living/family room. We felt perfectly settled in very shortly after arriving. The neighborhood was very convenient - a few minutes from both freeways, downtown San Carlos, and easy access to the rest of the Peninsula and greater Bay Area destinations. Also, we made good use of Edgewood Park for hiking/running trails, which is hardly a few minutes drive away.
Diane was an outstanding host - she and her husband made sure we had everything that we needed upon arrival, and she checked in several times to make sure our stay was going smoothly. Really don't have anything negative to say at all. This was our first time using AirBnB, and we had a great experience! Thanks, Diane! We'll be back!
“Everything was perfect for our family weekend. The house was roomy, comfortable and we were able to find all we needed to entertain guests, including a working gas barbeque grill! The rooms were furnished in a unique styles; all were different yet they felt connected and lent a very casual and homey feel to the place. The neighborhood was quiet and the backyard private, but the neighbors were friendly and welcoming. The location is really convenient, just off of the 101 freeway. There’s plenty of shopping along the nearby Camino Real, which was great given the number of trips we needed to make to the store! The owners kept in touch with us, were accommodating and made it easy to plan our arrival and departure. This was important since we had family and friends coming from the Midwest, East Coast and California. Making the choice of using airbnb and staying at this lovely place really reduced the stress of traveling. I don’t know how we would have ever hosted all the people we did for graduation dinner, and had such a comfortable setting at a hotel. Not to mention the money we saved! I would highly recommend staying there to anyone with a large group or family, that loves to create their own fun and entertainment.”
We had a great extended stay at their house (3 weeks). Plenty of room for our family of four. The house is very easy to live in. The kitchen is fully equipped. The neighbourhood is quiet. Diane was very responsive and an excellent host -- she made an extra effort to make our visit as easy as can be when travelling with two small children. It was the perfect location for our visit.
Wonderful hospitality. We loved being hosted by Diane. I look forward to staying here again.
About the Host, Diane
I'm from the Bay Area in California...my husband and I are empty nesters with a daughter in Denver, and a son in college in Seattle...we love to find off the beaten path places to stay and experience life a little differently than what we're used to! :). We've had such fun exploring different places using airbnb, that we decided to open up our home and allow others to enjoy our wonderful area!
