About this listing

The space

The Master Room is part of the Riad Dar Thalge

This beautiful Riad is located in the heart of the Medina of Marrakech, 7min away from the place Jemaa el-Fnaa!

Come discover the Moroccan way of life in this antic house, completely renovated and redecorated in the last years.

The Riad "Dar Thalge" was the home of the favorite dancer of the Pasha of Marrakech in the middle of the twentieth century, in the 50s. Acquired in 2001 by French architect and designer Eric LEGRIS-Pascal, he was then renovated in an architectural style and iconic design, while retaining its original touches, such as the magnificent arches structuring the patio of Indian inspiration.

Dar THALGE offers an oasis of comfort and coolness even during the hottest hours of Marrakech. The Riad has been completely renovated in early 2011, to offer even more comfort, harmony and with the introduction of many touches of warm colors ...

The Patio of 150 m2 has a small pool where you can relax and cool down when blows the hot desert wind... The patio has the advantage of staying cool in the summer and retains heat during winter nights ... During the summer, we live in the patio during the day and spend the evenings on the terraces.

The Riad is available for rent by room or exclusively depending on your preference.

This riad was perfect for our stay in Marrakech. It is tucked away from the madness, but only about a 5-10 minute walk to the main square. Our taxi driver dropped us off in the square where Maroud met us and walked us to the riad (we arranged for our own taxi driver, but the riad offers to pick you up and drop you off as well). It was just as pictured, very open, quiet, and spacious. We were offered tea while we waited for our room to be finalized. Our room was just as pictured as well, but we did have to provide our own lock for the room. Breakfast is provided with an assortment of breads, jams, tea, juices, and coffees - all very delicious and traditional. The staff is very welcoming and takes care of anything you need. The location was one of our favorite aspects of this riad due to its easy access to the main square and tourist sites, and quiet separation from the hectic city. We had a lovely stay here and highly recommend for anyone to stay here!

Amazing atmosphere and scenery, a very relaxed vibe. Outside is a bit chaotic in the old Medina, but the oasis of the riad makes this totally doable. Love it!

We stayed in the Riad for one night and it was simply amazing. The hosts are very nice and took care of us. We even got a small tour through a part of the old town and a very good explanation how we find back to the Riad. The room is cosy and the breakfast is tasty! Thank you for the hospitality!!

This is a very nice place to stay, quite close to the square. We had taken taxi from Marrakech railway station to this apartment. At first, the taxi driver called twice the host to go to the place. But once we were instructed how to find the way by the host, it became easier and convenient to go to the market & square. The host is very helpful to give tips to our visit around Marrakech. Will suggest it to other visitors.

An amazing place to relax. So beautiful and calm. Everyone was so nice and helpful. Full of nice details. The food is delicious. An Oassis in the middle of the crowded streets of Marrakech. We highly recommend it.

Myself and my girlfriend booked to stay here with the view of a 'once in a lifetime trip' to Marrakech, and in no small part due to the beautiful Riad and its wonderful staff, we are planning to return for the first of many times in September! The whole place is beautiful, it is very close to the main square (a short walk down a lively, local street) and it is a peaceful haven from the bustling centre. The real stars are the staff themself, they make your trip fantastic and make you feel at home from the off. The food is fantastic (make sure you eat at least one dinner in the Riad!) and they are so helpful with nay excursions or trips. Special mention goes to Mourad who did absolutely everything to make our trip incredible and arranged/showed us some things that are one of a kind and were the highlight of our trip. Thank you again and we look forward to coming to stay again very, very soon!!!
