Located in the heart of the medina of Marrakesh, the Riad Thalge welcomes you in a traditional Moroccan atmosphere, with peace and tranquility. 5 rooms for 10 guests, a patio with a small pool, 3 terraces and 2 living rooms.

The Space

The White Room is part of the Riad Dar Thalge http://www.airbnb.com/rooms/833291

This beautiful Riad is located in the heart of the Medina of Marrakech, 7min away from the place Jemaa el-Fnaa!

Come discover the Moroccan way of life in this antic house, completely renovated and redecorated in the last years.

The Riad "Dar Thalge" was the home of the favorite dancer of the Pasha of Marrakech in the middle of the twentieth century, in the 50s. Acquired in 2001 by French architect and designer Eric LEGRIS-Pascal, he was then renovated in an architectural style and iconic design, while retaining its original touches, such as the magnificent arches structuring the patio of Indian inspiration.

Dar THALGE offers an oasis of comfort and coolness even during the hottest hours of Marrakech. The Riad has been completely renovated in early 2011, to offer even more comfort, harmony and with the introduction of many touches of warm colors ...

The Patio of 150 m2 has a small pool where you can relax and cool down when blows the hot desert wind... The patio has the advantage of staying cool in the summer and retains heat during winter nights ... During the summer, we live in the patio during the day and spend the evenings on the terraces.

The Riad is available for rent by room or exclusively depending on your preference.
White Room for 2 persons: 50 € / night
Red Room for 2 persons: 70 € / night
Master Bedroom for 2 persons: 70 € / night
Family Suite for 4 people: 110 € / night

Riad in exclusivity from 6 to 10 guests at 250€/night
Each room or suite is equipped with a bathroom.

Eating at the Riad
The cook Nezah will prepare your breakfast every morning. She's also here to prepare any Moroccan meal you might want, whether for lunch or dinner. The costs then varies depending on the meal selected and the number of guests.

Guest Access

The Riad also has 3 terraces and 2 living rooms in free access as well as a small central pool to cool off on hot summer days.
You can access them at any time of the day and night, as long as you respect the tranquility of the Riad and the other guests.
The sunroof is equipped with sofas to allow you to enjoy the sun.

Interaction with Guests

We live in the Riad where we have our own private room.

This allows us to welcome you when you arrive, to advice you on your trip, what you should see, where you should eat and just help you during your stay.
Moreover we really enjoy meeting new people and making new friendships. We love sharing our knowledge of Marrakesh and our best spots in town.

Our English is not perfect but Mourad and Yassin speak very well and (website hidden) Translate is always here to rescue us in difficult times ;)

Getting around

From the airport or the train station, you can take a cab to get to the Riad. The trip takes around 15minutes.
We HIGHLY recommend that you book the cab through us. Our usual chauffeur knows very well the Riad and the charges a flat fee already negotiated by us. It guarantees a safe and relax arrival at our Riad, the best way to start your stay.

From the Riad, you can reach the main square Jemaa El Fna in under 10 minutes.

  • We had a wonderful trip and a fantastic stay at Riad Thalge. Bruno, Martine and the team were incredibly welcoming and accommodating. The rooms were beautiful and the breakfast delicious! I'd highly recommend.

  • The riad was wonderful. Great staff and in between the locals of the medina. The riad is really cool and quiet and the staff is considerate and helpful. Thanks Bruno Martine and mourad and all the others!

  • I took my girlfriend for a birthday surprise weekend in Marrakech, and the riad did not disappoint!
Dinner was set out for us on arrival, where we enjoyed a romantic supper beside the candle lit plunge pool.
Martine, Bruno and Mourad were excellent hosts, and made us feel very welcome, nothing was too much trouble - breakfast was served at any time. We felt so relaxed in the riad, it was an oasis of calm from the outside hustle of the lively streets.
Mourad was an excellent guide taking us on a tour of the real Marrakech, from the real souks, teaching us the history of the city and suggesting amazing places to eat and drink.
The riad was merely a 10 minute walk from the centre Place Jemaa El Fna, and only 15 minute taxi to the airport.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend the riad to our friends - already pining for a return trip!

  • This Riad has a modern and white or solid-color look in the lobby, rooms and roof deck which for some reason we hadn't realized from the pictures. The toilet for the White Room is outside of the bedroom, and it's necessary to walk in the common area courtyard balcony to get there.

We arrived from the train station (for which you should plan for a $20 trip) at night and unloaded on a busy street with mopeds zipping around where a man carted our luggage to the Riad, 10 minute or so walk. The location is a 10-20 minute walk to the heart of the Medina (where all the artisan shops are).

We decided we wanted a more authentically Moroccan-style Riad with lots of tile and wood for our stay in Marrakesh. We ended up moving to a more centrally located Riad on a quiet street in pursuit of the mystical Moroccan atmosphere with management that helped us orient to the town as new visitors. (We were in a better mood upon arriving at this new Riad but a lot of our negativity upon arriving at Thalge had to do with unclear communication, expectations, the welcome process, and nighttime feeling of the neighborhood. FYI at the time we stayed we learned the Airbnb listing had a host named Edouard who wasn't living in the area.

  • My boyfriend and I stayed 5 nights at Riad Thalge and had a fantastic time! The airport transfers that were arranged through the riad were very smooth and the staff couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. Morad and Yasin went out of their way to make sure your stay was as pleasant as possible (we didn't see Edouard whilst staying at the riad but his communication and help was excellent prior to this). I would highly recommend that you eat dinner at the riad as well, the women are fantastic cooks and it was extremely good value (a three course meal for approx £10!). Breakfast is also fantastic with freshly squeezed orange juice every morning! The riad itself was absolutely spotless and provided a peaceful tranquil place which is well needed after a day at the souqs! It is just a 10 minute walk to the Jemaa El Fna and even less to the central souqs. I would highly recommend staying at Riad Thalge, we couldn't have asked for a better holiday!

    May be soon.

  • We stayed two nights at riad thalge in the red room. The room was a bit "run down", but the owners were telling us, they are planning a refurbishment soon this year. for 70Euro we had better during our trip to be honest.
its easy to reach from the main square, just a 10 min walk, pretty much straight through buzzing marrakesh.
bruno and martine were very helpful, eager to help in case of questions.

    Response from Edouard:
