The Space

small Double Room in lovely Townhouse in quiet residential neighbourhood S'th side (no noise for sleeping) but just 3.5 miles/5KM from Dublin centre. Continental breakfast available (self-service).
Bright Airy Bedroom, comfy double bed, wifi access.
Guests are welcome to use the modern kitchen/dining room, relax in the living-room, and have access to a sunny back-garden, also for smoking (website hidden) for car-parking.
Choice of several regular Bus routes to the centre (bus stop outside the house). Bus schedule provided.
Convenient for nearby beautiful city villages of Terenure and Rathgar which have great choice of bars and restaurants for those wanting a better price alternative to slightly over-priced city centre; also convenient for the M50 motorway (and Airport).
Attractive Public Park behind the house - good for walks and chilling-out after a tough day in the city !. Larger Public Park with running track - 15 minutes walk. Shopping centre 5 mins walk from house.
Kimmage is one of the oldest parts of Dublin city and has a strong community feel and positive vibe. The famous and historically beautiful 'Mount Argus Church' and cemetery is nearby. Distinguished 'Rathfarnham Castle' near Terenure is 10 mins drive.
When you have finished your city sight-seeing I recommend you take a trip along the north Dublin coast line to beautiful village of Howth and Howth Hill (via DART Train) to enjoy the walks, nature reserve and panoramaic views across Dublin Bay. Also take the same DART train along the South coast line to Dalkey or Bray Town (c 45 minutes) and enjoy incredible scenic beauty both there and along the coastel route . A day trip a little further south to County Wicklow (the "Garden of Ireland") is also recommended and specifically the historical site of Glendalough and The National Park in the wicklow hills (appx 1.5 hours by Bus).
My objective is to make your stay here as comfortable, relaxing and enjoyable as possible and to share a little of my knowledge of Dublin and its surroundings with you.

  • The house was lovely, the neighborhood was very quiet and the host was very nice. The bus station is next to the house, at 15 minutes form the city center. But the house was a little bit fresh.

  • My visit in Dublin was very successful and stay in the house in Kimmage I remember very well. The room was nice and comfortable, we could enjoy the spacious kitchen with dining area, and the neighborhood is quiet and safe. The bus that goes to the city center is just around the corner and our host prepared for us a map of Dublin and bus routes. Declan was very helpful, friendly and cared about us. It was nice to returning to Declan's home after travel to the costs and sightseeing Dublin. I highly recommend this address in Ireland.

  • Nice house in the suburbs of Dublin, simple but clean and tidy. Declan was really welcoming, and gave us many advises about places to visit and informations about the history of the country.

About
Hi, I'm Declan from Dublin, I'm 45 and enjoy travelling and meeting friendly respectful people from different cultures and backgrounds. I enjoy keeping fit, playing tennis, running etc. Love cinema, theatre, reading, music and good wine. When I travel I like to immerse myself in the local environs and get a real feel for the place and the people. I live in a lovely 2 bedroom townhouse on the southside of Dublin, have a spare room and would love to host like-minded people for short or medium term - and share some of my knowledge of my native city.
