Small, but beautiful condo in the heart of downtown Anchorage, Alaska. This condo is across the street from the famed Tony Knowles Coastal Trail and located just a few blocks from great shops and restaurants. It is also an easy walking distance from the Alaska Railroad Depot, the starting place of many great Alaskan destinations.
The neighborhood, known as "Bootlegger's Cove" is extremely quiet and the views of Mt. Susitna (Sleeping Lady) are spectacular, not to mention the 20+ hours of daylight in the summer months.
The bus stop for public transport is located approximately 2 blocks from the unit, with the main bus depot a 10 minute walk away.
I do have a bicycle available for your use if you wish. The trail can be accessed approximately 4-5 blocks from the unit and winds throughout Anchorage from Far North Bicentennial Park (with single track access to the Chugach Mountain hiking/biking/skiing areas) to Kincaid Park (maintained by the Nordic Ski Club).
The coin operated laundry facility is right across the breezeway, but rarely used on weekdays. Tenants are asked to keep the area clean and remove laundry promptly when finished.
You will have one designated parking space, and there are other spaces located adjacent to the unit that are city owned, but free to the public as long as your car is not parked in the same spot for over 48 hours without being moved.
Interaction with Guests
I am a teacher and travel during the summer, so I will more than likely not be here to greet you. My next-door neighbor, however, will be both managing and cleaning the condo during my absence, and she will be able to answer any questions you may have or provide you with any necessary supplies that may be running low.
This is a very quiet neighborhood. My neighbors are wonderful....a true community. We abide by the municipal codes for noise levels - 9:30 P.M. -9:00 A.M are the quiet hours, but for summertime in Alaska most people are willing to bend the rules a bit.
No smoking is permitted in my unit. Guests who do smoke are asked to do so away from the complex, especially if there are open windows.
The condo was PERFECT for my quick trip up to visit my family! It has everything I needed and is laid out nicely! It is in a great part of town, great in winter and summer. I walked down to Westchester Lagoon and watched families ice skating. It was so comfortable, I added an additional night's stay! Peggy was great to work with and has a lovely place here in Bootleggers Cove! I would stay again!
Peggy's place was great, lots of helpful notes, very clean and comfortable. We were also incredibly appreciative that Peggy allowed us to rent over the Christmas holiday.
Very handy spot and clean, neat and tidy! We hired some bikes to see some sights and had high hopes of moose but they were hiding that day! Thanks for your lovely home Peggy.
My husband and I stayed at Peggy's condo at the end of our Alaskan adventure. The condo was even nicer than the pictures with a lot of personal touches that definitely made it seem like a home. The location was great so close to the water and trails along the coast. Unfortunately, we never got to meet Peggy but she was quick to respond to any of our emails and provided everything we needed for our stay. I would definitely encourage anyone visiting Anchorage to stay at Peggy's beautiful condo.
Peggy was very responsive and accommodating. Her condo was great, clean and comfortable. Walking distance to downtown and close to a couple local parks. Wonderful stay!
Peggy alsi host us 2 weeks before and it's all the same of the best and moreover. Peggy allow us to use few product from her kitchen and always was available to respond and did her best to extend our check out.
My husband and I stayed at Peggy's condo twice in July. Condo is one story which was conveient for older couple like us. It was well furnished with everything we needed and tastefully decorated. Impeccably clean. Laundry room that we also used was few steps from the condo and reasonably priced.
the condo is close to downtown and to waterfront and provided spectacular views of the snow covered mountains acros the Cook inlet. It is in very quiet area with friendly neighbors. Our taxi driver, not familiar with the area had hard time finding it. I suggest future users to give Peggy's instrutions to the driver.
our host Peggy, despite away, was very responsive every time we contacted her. We had difficlties using Internet and was asured that it will be fixed.
I would recommend this condo to everyone who would like privacy.
I am givin it four stars only because of the problems with Internet.
I am a veteran teacher and have been in Alaska since 1969. Although I love Alaska and all it has to offer, I want the freedom to be able to travel during the summer months, as well as the winter and spring breaks and would like to know that my little place is well taken care of while I am away. I will return the favor if I stay in your home.
I'm new to this site, but have had many friends who have had great experiences with Airbnb.
