The apartment was clean when we arrived and looked good, it was a nice arrival. The communication was good and we didn't have to wait, although we arrived in the evening. The whole stay we liked the apartment and were very happy with our choice. The location is perfect, from here you can walk easily into palermo and visit your favorite museo - Palazzo's- markets and enjoy Palermo.
Anna Maria was very helpful, and the apartment was lovely.
We arrived on an Easter Monday, and we had been afraid of finding some dinner, but Anna Maria booked on of the loveliest restaurants in town for us.
We didn't see her during the week, but she picked up the phone straight away when I had questions and solved/helped faster than lightening. Would definitely recommend her place for a Palermo visit.
Was a great time in Palermo many thanks for your advices. The flat was exact what we expect and needed for our stay, very central, but quiet with good place to chilout, the the marina and the botanical garden.
Anna was present at our arrival, managed everything for us even with our spezial request.
Very friendly and professional.
Spezial thanks to you, we had a perfect stay.
Despite arranging to meet us at the apartment no one was there when we arrived. We had difficulty contacting Anna Maria but eventually we did and she organised her mother, who had limited English, to come and show us the 2nd floor apartment. There was an elevator but also 3 sets of 4or 5 steps to negotiate.
Her mother kindly rang Anna Maria for her to explain to us where the nearest supermarket was.
The apartment was spacious with a large, fresh looking bathroom but the shower was the size of a small telephone box. The windows looked out on a narrow street and did not permit a lot of natural light and since the skies were grey for most of our visit it was a bit gloomy.
After the first night of our 3 night stay the Internet stopped working. Again we had difficulty contacting our host by phone. We had to find a local cafe with free wifi to E mail her. She was prompt in investigating the cause of the problem, it wasn't her fault but it wasn't fixed until late on our third night. The positives were, 1) the location of the apartment building, very nice neighbourhood to walk around; parks, palaces, restaurants, churches, and 2) the free car parking across the road. Overall we were disappointed in our Air B&B experience In Palermo.
Dear Joke, I'm sorry to notice that during your stay you never mentioned all this disappointment you're writing now. As for your arrival we've been in contact all the time, you wrote me you would arrive at 14:00 instead you arrived at 14:45 without any advice. My mother was waiting for you inside the apartment that's why noone was downstairs. Plus as for her poor english, you spoke at the phone with me and after I asked you if you needed some more information you said you were fine. As for the internet problem you called me at 7 in the morning and when I called you back at 9 you didn't even answer and just wrote me an email. The problem was not of the apartment but as I explained to you it was a problem of the public line for which I have no fault. I'm always available for my guests but it must be a mutual availabilty otherwise things don't work.
Palermo & Sicily made wonderful impression on my boyfriend and myself, and part of it was:
1) the location of Anna Maria's flat (next to the port, street parking, sea and city center),
2) authentic building (gala entrance, old with historic pictures in corridors),
3) Anna Maria's kind offer to suggest & book the great traditional classy restaurant for my birthday! Thank you, bella!
Appartment itself: exactly as at pictures. Part of ex old hotel, which makes it cool.
Kitchen well equiped, just bring/buy your spices/oil/sugar.
Bathroom clean, shower box small.
Bedroom spacious. Extra pillows in armoire. No aircondition.
Living/dinning room nice, with airconditioned.
Palermo is amazing, people so alive, food delicious, so for us even though we stayed 3 days and it was rainy February, we would recommend both Anna's flat and Palermo as romantic location together with nearby Cefalu.
Kisses to Anna & Sicily (still in my mind there)
