House Rules

Everything at the house is quite self-explanatory!

I'll ask you to please adhere to local recycling rules, and will provide the proper receptacles. NYC takes recycling seriously & issues fines to landlords whose garbage & recycling aren't properly sorted; it's your obligation to adhere to the sorting rules, if not the fine will be applied to your Airbnb security deposit.

Checkin at 2pm, checkout at 11am, though I do try to be accommodating with arrival & departure times so let's please coordinate directly.

You are more than welcome to have a friend or two over and I certainly want you to make yourself at home and enjoy your stay, but please no parties & no strangers :-) This is a historic neighborhood of rowhouses so please also be respectful of the neighbors, all of whom are very nice (close front door quietly rather than slamming, etc).

NO shooting/NO filming

This is a beautiful location on a street with easy access to free parking. The neighborhood is fabulous and everything you need is within close walking distance. We had a little trouble with the circular staircase, so if you have mobility issues know that the staircase is pretty narrow. The kitchen was well-equipped, although you might want to know that there's no microwave (at least not when we stayed there). The wifi was free and worked great, and we were able to keep the upstairs at a comfortable temperture with either the cross-breezes or the AC. Checking in was easy, as the owner was able to meet us & checking out was incredibly simple. This is a great place and we would stay here again!

An amazing place to stay in Brooklyn. Your own private refuge from NYC with a lovely window to greenery and a spiral staircase down to your bed. Would definetly stay here again!!!

I stayed at Maya's while visiting my adult daughter who lives in Brooklyn. She joined me in staying at Maya's place. Great location, nice, simple and enjoyable place to lodge. The spiral staircase to the basement bedroom was a tight fit - would be tough if you are a large person or an older adults uncomfortable with spiral stair - worked fine for me (53, 6 ft tall and 200 pounds). There's one queen bed in the basement. My daughter slept on the couch in the living room, though its narrow. There is an extra mattress in the basement bedroom that could be placed on the floor if desired, but I wasn't sure how easy it would be to get up the spiral stair. I didn't meet Maya, but she was courteous, helpful and kind in all of our correspondence.

Maya is excellent at communicating and working with her is extremely easy. Her apartment is centrally located in very hip Greenpoint, just a few minutes from the G train and about a 15 minute walk to the L train. I loved the main floor of the apartment, and the downstairs bedroom is spacious, if a little dark. My only small issue is a narrow spiral staircase that leads from the main floor downstairs, which can get a little difficult to descend and ascend. Other than that, an ideal place to stay in NYC!

We had an excellent stay at Maya's. The apartment is small but perfect for a long weekend or even extended stay. It was easy to walk around Greenoint and Williamsburg, as well as catching trains to Manhattan. The street is quiet but still close to everything which is great. Highly recommended!
