Interaction with Guests
When we are on the property, we like to have a chat and get to know our guests. We also like to have either someone from our family, or one of our staff on the property at all times when we have guests staying for your piece of mind.
During the day, staff are on the property preparing breakfast in the morning and then doing the routine cleaning tasks during the day. If you would like a smaller staff presence during your stay, please let us or our house manager Yuli know so we can adjust to suit the level or privacy you require.
Lod Tunduh is a large village home to farmers, carvers and artists. There are two very good art galleries close by on the Lod Tunduh mainroad - Genta Gallery owned by the Rudana family from Mas Village, and the newer Tanah Tho Gallery. Both have high quality Indonesian art on display and for sale.
Lod Tunduh is a quiet and peaceful village where you can really kick back and relax. The natural surrounds are quite lovely, with a good breeze most of the year round.
Our village is approximately 10 minutes to the Southern border of Ubud, and 12 minutes to the centre. You are far enough away from the hustle and bustle to be in peaceful surrounds, however motor vehicle transport is really needed to get into town as the roads are narrow in Bali and footpaths are hard to find! Transport is easily organised via our house manager Yuli and is approximately US$5 per trip into town.
Tariff is based on 6 people. If you alter the number of people staying you must inform us prior to arrival. Children under 3 years stay free of charge. Strictly no pets allowed.
Pondok Langon is first and foremost our home. It's unique village setting and tranquil surrounds means that it works for people who are looking for a place to relax and unwind. Think rice-paddy walks, slow village life and sunsets on the balcony listening to the frog songs and overlooking the emerald-green surrounds. We seek guests who are respectful of our family compound and are keen to share life in the slower lane for a time.
Our home does not work for party-goers and all-night-longers.
There is no smoking allowed in any of the enclosed rooms on the property.
No food or drinks (other than water) allowed in the bedrooms. Waste is to be recycled in the bins provided. The property is equipped with shopping bags which we urge guests to use when shopping to avoid single-use plastic bags and help reduce Bali's huge plastic waste problem.
Breakfast is served between 8am and 9am each morning. An earlier or later breakfast can be arranged up until 11am, after which the kitchen is closed. If dining in, dinner must be ordered by 9am.
