Stunning Home 3 Kms to the CBD

House - Private room · Sterling Circuit, Camperdown, NSW 2050, Australia

A spacious bedroom with private bathroom sits within a beautiful modern airy and sunny three-level townhouse just 3 kms from the CBD and footsteps to RPA Hospital. Surrounded by cool cafes, Camperdown's considered as the 'Soho' of Sydney. Multiple easy transport options are available. Airport 25 minutes away.

The Space

Your quiet and airy queen size bedroom is fully furnished with a very comfortable bed, and built in wardrobe. The private bathroom is adjacent, and is equiped with high quality Villeroy and Boch and Groehe bathroom ware, complemented by quality body products, towels and a hairdryer.
There are two beautiful large pools (one indoor and one outdoor), and two fully equiped gyms in our residential community, and these are available for your use at no charge. There is a convenience store and supermarket, and great local cafes and huge parklands/waterway just footsteps away.

Guest Access

The three-level townhouse has every modern convenience which you are invited to share with us. There is a chef's kitchen, and a large outdoor BBQ. There is a sunny terrace with a leafy private outlook....ideal for breakfast or lounging in the sun. An outdoor spa pool in the atrium is perfect for watching the stars at night, enjoying a glass of champagne. Wifi, Pay TV and Nespresso machine coffee is included (breakfast isn't included). We have all the basics (oil, flour, butter etc) if you wish to cook, but please leave the communal areas as you find them. There's a dishwasher, and premium front loader washing machine and dryer for your convenience.

Interaction with Guests

We work mostly from home, and sometimes our clients will visit us there, so this property is better suited to those who are looking to get out and about and enjoy all this location has to offer. When we are home, we are very happy to interact with you or leave you alone, whatever your preference. Our dog Baci is an energetic happy boy who loves meeting new people. He doesn't shed hair, so is fine for allergy sufferers. We'll happily show you around the beautiful local park walks with Baci if you are missing your canine companion. There is only one entrance to the property, but your room is on the top level at the rear, so our comings and goings shouldn't disturb you. We'll give you a key, so you're completely independant.

The Neighborhood

Our place is very central to several hip and happening suburbs: Camperdown, Annandale, Leichhardt, Glebe and Newtown. There would be at least 100 cafes/restaurants within a 20 minute walking radius. Newtown has a wonderful Independent Art Cinema...The Dendy, and Glebe is teeming with a mix of boho chic, student vibe, and young professionals. The eating options are endless. The area is also blessed with a magnificent series of parklands known as Bicentennial Park, which can be easily accessed from the property, and follows the harbour foreshore for a leisurely hours walk, or take our bikes and a picnic and enjoy the many bike trails in the area.

Getting around

There is excellent public transport to the city and beaches just a few minutes walk away. The buses run approximately every 15 minutes, and the trip to the city is around 20 minutes. The airport is a 25 minute taxi/car ride, and the Airport Train Service runs from Central Station, which is a 10 minute bus ride from the property.

  • What else to say? Great place and awesome people. I felt like at home during my one-month stay with Liz and Andy :)

  • Look no further, you've found your spot! I can't say enough about Liz's beautiful, open-plan home situated just outside the CBD or her amazing hospitality while I was there. I arrived in Sydney in a state of distress, having flown two back to back, overnight flights, getting almost no sleep, feeling a little under the weather, and then discovering that my hostel accommodations were poor. I messaged Liz early Wednesday afternoon and asked if I could check in on Friday morning - and I was in luck. Her normally booked room was unusually free for the week, thank goodness. From the moment that I arrived on her doorstep, Liz went above and beyond getting me settled into a very comfortable bedroom with private bath, giving me a tour of the house & neighborhood, which offers access to 2 pools and 2 gyms, and providing me with a neighborhood map and a public transportation app for the buses. The apartment is a quick walk to a bus stop that takes you right into the CBD, is situated between 2 cute neighborhoods with great cafes & restaurants and everything you could need is within walking distance, ie. grocery store, post office, coffee shops, and hospital/ medical care (which I unfortunately needed).

In addition to a great location, Liz (and Andy) are fantastic hosts. They themselves have lived in a few different countries, travel frequently, and it was easy to talk with and relate to them. They offer access to the entire house, which was so nice to be able to cook a meal, and made me feel instantly at home. Above all, with their open nature and Liz's motherly care (she used to be a nurse!), they literally helped restore my health. If I needed some quiet time to nap, I got it. If I was venturing out for the day, they had helpful advice. And they were even kind enough to invite me to the dinner they were hosting for their neighbors (which I always appreciate since I'm traveling solo). It's fantastic to get to know the locals!
I would highly recommend Liz and her home for your stay in Sydney!!

  • I had a great time staying here with Liz and Andy, very nice people and very helpful too. The place was great, had my own bathroom which was nice, fresh towels and sheets when I needed them, access to the laundry, wifi and there's even an outdoor pool. Very nice place, I highly recommend it.

    Response from Liz:

Thanks Chris. We're glad you enjoyed our place. Hope it's not too cold back home after the brilliant weather you had here. Cheers, Liz and Andy

  • "Staying with Liz and Andy (and Baci) was well beyond ones expectation. To say they are generous and welcoming people is perhaps an understatement. They made us feel very much at home in fact the hospitality at times was better than being at home often offering us the opportunity to share a chat and drink with them and their friends. They have a beautiful house and the bedroom and bathroom at the end of the house was private and quiet. The location is close to the suburbs of Glebe and Newtown with their numerous restaurants and pubs and very convenient for buses into Sydney centre.
Liz and Andy, we enjoyed the friendly and often funny banter but especially the warmth of friendship you showed to us throughout our two week stay. "

Thanks Stephen, we SO enjoyed having you and Derek stay with us. And Derek, your yellow and orange striped socks have become the poster child for British humour, and are destined for many an outing.

  • Liz and Andy were incredible hosts, so friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was not provided but we had full use of the kitchen when needed. Our room was beautiful and the bed extremely comfortable. It was a luxurious set up and with good access to bus routes. Highly recommended.

  • Very accomodating and welcoming. The house is beautifully organised and the private space is key. And respected. Liz and Andy will enjoy your holiday with you or give you your space. Highly recommended.

Thanks so much Anthony, it was a pleasure to host you. Have a great 2014, and we hope to see you and your family again in the future. Liz and Andy

  • We had a wonderful stay at Liz and Andy's beautiful home. They are the perfect hosts, very welcoming, relaxed and helpful. Great to know where the locals go for a drink / meal and they also passed on a great app we used for transport. As there are so many fantastic choices nearby, Glebe and Newtown to name a few - check out the iconic Deus cafe for breakfast too - loved it.
The three level apartment is immaculately presented, and our room and bathroom was very clean, private and comfortable.

We only found out about Airbnb after we had booked accommodation for around $600, luckily we cancelled and booked this, as we saved around $400! and we honestly think it was better quality. That was a great start to our weekend that's for sure. Would highly recommend this accommodation and will be back hopefully soon.

  • Liz and Andy are kind and generous people who made our stay in Sydney exceptional. They made us feel right at home in their beautiful house and helped us plan our tourist days in their city. The room is lovely, with lots of wardrobe space, the bathroom modern and spotless. The dog is charming. There is a large selection of restaurants close by. One easy bus ride, 15-20 minutes, takes you to Circular Quay and the heart of the city.

  • Staying with Liz and Andy was fabulous! They are truly lovely, generous and welcoming people. It just felt natural to spend few days at their place. And what a place, this house is so beautiful and comfortable. The bedroom and the bathroom being at the far end of the second level makes it feels very private and quiet. The location is also quite convenient with many bus services around. Overall, we had a beautiful and comfortable stay with Liz and Andy.

We love meeting people from diverse walks of life with a story to share. I'm from NZ, but have lived in beautiful cosmopolitan Sydney for over 20 years. Andy's from England, via Sri Lanka and New Zealand. Together we enjoy all things foodie and cultural, and will happily share all our favourite haunts. We have a can-do attitude to everything, life's too short to look backwards. We'd love to share a bottle of wine with you and hear your stories. We have so many places yet to won't find us sitting at home on your couch often.
