We would love you to stay with us in our spacious two-story home. We have two rooms available (a maximum of two people in each). They are booked through separate Airbnb listings.
Your studio room with comfortable double bed is separate from the house – the French doors open onto the sunny deck, just a metre from the back door. You will need to come inside to use the guest bathroom. There are bathrobes and a hair-dryer for your use.
The Front Room:
This light and airy bedroom with a comfortable queen bed is inside, down stairs off the hall. The guest bathroom with separate toilet is off the same hall. The dining room, kitchen and laundry are also on the ground floor. Our bedroom and bathroom are upstairs so you will have a measure of privacy. To book the Front Room, go to the separate listing on the AirBnB website "Sunny, spacious, close to town WIFI".
We provide a continental breakfast and you have access to the kitchen. Just around the corner are cafes, restaurants, a pub, takeaways, a minimart, off-licence, hairdressers, money machines and the Penthouse – a multi-screen art-house cinema. You have the use of a Weber BBQ on our large deck.
With its reputation as the cultural capital of New Zealand, Wellington is a compact city, perfect for walking round. Brooklyn is an inner city suburb – it is just a short fifteen-minute stroll down through Central Park to the vibrant Cuba quarter and another five minutes to the jewel in Wellington’s crown – the waterfront. You can drive in three minutes or catch a bus from the stop right outside the door.
From the airport, grab a cab or shuttle (cheaper). We are 3 km from the ferry and train stations – take a taxi or a bus which will drop you outside the door. Most of the time, I can pick you up (fee may apply).
Smoking outside please.
Excellent stay in Wellington. Just as advertised - sunny and great Wifi. Plus great hosts, very convenient location and a wonderful house.
Sincere thanks to our charming hosts Joan and Howard for their gracious hospitality, delightful studio, hot bath, taxi service and local knowledge. Perfect location in Wellington- 10/10.
Howard and Joan are really great hosts, very friendly and helpfull. Their house is very very nice, with a wonderfull deck and huge living space. They rent a room and a studio on the ground floor of the house and as they occupy the sevond floor, where there is a seperate bathroom, the airbnb guests practically get the whole first floor to theselves. Its in a great neighbourhood, free parking, 15min walk (downhill) to town center and there is bus that stops 50m. from the doorstep.
great Wellington expirience!
We had a wonderful night at Howard and Joan's lovely and quiet studio! Howard welcomed us, showed us, around and made us feel right at home. He gave great recommendations for seeing the city in our short day we had there. The studio is very clean, and has everything a traveler needs - from a rack to hang clothes on to a desk for organizing our things... even chocolates on the bed for a treat! We enjoyed taking in the sun on the back deck and walking all through the city before heading back to Brooklyn neighborhood for a nice dinner. The tasty breakfast and coffee before our early morning flight was delicious and very much appreciated! We would definitely recommend and wish we could have stayed with them a few more nights.
Wish we could have stayed longer! Howard and Joan were friendly and offered great advice on things to do in the area. The room has everything you need. It was a bit cold outside but the heater kept us nice and toasty inside. The location is ideal. Breakfast was great. We would definitely recommend staying here!
Howard is a great host and the studio is very cozy, quiet and clean. The breakfast he made was also delicious.
We stayed in the studio for one night and were able to walk into town. Everything was pretty close. If you don't feel like walking there is also a bus you can take.
What a fantastic place to stay! Both Joan and Howard were very welcoming and the location was perfect. We were in Wellington to celebrate my mother's 50th and were easily able to travel into central Wellington for activities as well as walk around the corner to the local Brooklyn shops. The weather wasn't very good for walking so we mainly drove everywhere but had it been dry we could have easily got around on foot or by bus. The house is beautiful with everything provided that you may need; bath robes, magazines, books, guide books and breakfast provided in the morning was the icing on the cake!
