There isn't a rating high enough to capture how wonderful our stay at Kjersti's cabin was. We were on a two-week tour of Sweden and Norway for our honeymoon and wanted to get out of the cities and into the countryside for a bit. Kjersti's cabin couldn't have been more perfect.
Accessible only by boat, it has a great sense of privacy. Our only neighbors were the chickadees, nuthatches, ducks and one lone red squirrel. The spruce, pine and birch forest was blanketed in soft moss, perfect for walking barefoot or even taking a nap on in a sunlit glade. The cabin itself is cozy and charming. We cooked most of our meals over the open fire pits (there are several) and got around at night by candlelight--but the gas stovetop and fridge felt like wonderful luxuries in the otherwise no-tech rustic setting. The outhouse toilet was new and modern and there was no smell whatsoever. There are plenty of wool blankets and sheepskins strewn about to snuggle in when it's chilly.
Can we take a second to tell you how much we love Kjersti? She is sweet and friendly and so helpful. She was available to answer any questions we had, willing to do anything to make our stay a good one, and shuttled us back and forth from the island in her boat. She is the best Air B&B host ever and we feel like we've make a new friend.
Kjersti's cabin is the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. If you're looking for fresh air, beautiful landscapes, wildlife watching, hiking and kayaking, and to totally disconnect (there's no wifi and it's a glorious thing)--with one of the best hosts we've ever had the pleasure of renting from--this is the place for you.
