Joan was the consummate hostess. She made us feel very welcome at all times but never intruded on our privacy. She gave great tips on places to dine and explore. The neighborhood was quiet but close to everything. We will definitely visit again.
Joan was very nice and her cottage is a nice space. Unfortunately, the listing is misleading. It appears that there is more private space in the photos than there actually is. The living room (first picture) is common for all the guests and the sitting room (third picture) with the second couch is actually a second room for rent. I would have never expected that space to be rented to others as the listing says "real bed" and there is no real bed in that room, as it is a convertible soft. The most difficult part of the stay was this cottage says it accommodates 3, but when we were there there were 6 people total sharing the one small bathroom, which was quite uncomfortable. I would not stay again or recommend to others.
Anton was oblivious to the fact that two of his fellow bathroom users had their own bath and bedroom. The other couple were aware that they would be sleeping on an open up sofa and sharing a bath; Montauk was swamped with wedding guests and acommodations were extremely scare, which was why I relinquished my private bedroom and bath to the third couple. They were desperate. I moved to a friend's and slept on an airmattress for the 2 nights so no one would be disappointed. He had a queen bed in a comfortable room, where unfortunately he disobeyed the rules and smoked whatever. I would never give up any space in my home to them again
We love visiting Montauk and our stay at Joan's Sea-Sational cottage! Joan is an excellent host and the place was clean and comfortable.

We loved the place and our hostess. Joan made us feel right at home and comfortable. It was like visiting a friends house. We already talked about going back next summer.
Joan was the perfect host. She picked us up at the railroad station, gave us a tour of Montauk and even served us a late night snack the evening of our arrival. The next day, I spent several hours just talking with her while my wife relaxed in the yard. Then she gave us a ride to the wedding which we were in town to attend.
Joan was welcoming and sweet . The modest home was clean and only 3 blocks from the beach. The home backs onto Montauk Hgwy so was not as quiet as desired.
Lover of sea and sand - commute between NJ and MTK . Grew up summers on family boat l respecting Ma Nature and her ocean. Learned to go with the rip and not panic in the sea and in life. Gave up snow skiing three years ago after a lifetime of winter joys. Skied off a 15 ft cliff and figured luck running out. Am a restless traveler visiting fellow airbnbers. Enjoy learning from guests and life. Me in a nutshell, but there's much much more.
