The Space

The perfect retreat in the heart of DC. Just renovated in 2013, the apartment has granite counter tops, stainless steel appliances and a brand new kitchen and bath. More than just a plain old studio, there is a separate kitchen with a breakfast buffet and an entirely separate vanity and dressing area with a huge closet and an oversized full length wall mirror. You also get the incredible view of Meridian Park from the large windows that line the apartment. The White House, National Mall and most monuments are a quick 20 minute walk.

Guest Access

Roof Deck. There is a great roof deck on top of the building with seating. Take in a 360 degree view of beautiful DC.

Laundry. Right downstairs. Laundry cards and detergent are provided for you.

Interaction with Guests

Check-In. You are free to arrive whenever you like so long as it is after 2:00 p.m. You will receive a number code once you book and use that to get into the apartment. I respect your privacy but am always available by phone, text, email or Airbnb message if you need anything.

The Neighborhood

The Park. Meridian Park is the Central Park of DC. An urban park like no other, it's got a huge cascading fountain and 12 acres of green trees and unique sculptures right in the middle of the city.

Central Location. Even better is you are central to 3 of the best areas in DC. Walk one block east and you are right in the bustling U Street Corridor, a few blocks west and you are on 18th street in Adams Morgan. Go south a few blocks and you are right at Dupont Circle. Walk north and you are in Columbia Heights. I love this neighborhood because it is quiet and residential, but still close to all the action.

Safety. This is one of the safest areas of DC. Take caution as you would in any city. Most of NW is pretty safe but this area is a lot more established than some of the up and coming neighborhoods.

Getting around

Every form of transportation is an option.

Parking? There is only street parking available, but it is FREE. A rarity in DC (or any city), the street next to the apartment is unmetered and there are always spots available. You will even be able to see your car from the window of the unit. The only restriction is a street cleaning on Monday mornings meaning you would have to move it out of the space for about 1/2 hour.

Rental Car? There are 2 on-site Enterprise vehicles in the building's parking lot available to rent. Simply contact Enterprise and they will set it up for you, you can pick up a car from right in front of the building and drop it off in the same spot when you are done. There are also two Zipcar spaces with a similar set up.

Bikeshare? Super easy. There are 3 pickup locations within a block of the building. You can rent a bike for $7/day or get a 3 day pass for $15.

Metro? The Green and Yellow lines are a 3 block walk from the unit. There are Smart Cards in the apartment for you to use, simply take the card with you when you head out for the day and you can charge it at any metro station using a debit card, credit card or cash.

Bus? There is a bus stop less than a block away and 4 different bus lines are available for pick up every 7-10 minutes. You can get straight downtown to the National Mall in about 10-15 minutes.

There are maps of the city and transit information in the apartment.

Other Things to Note

I am friendly, laid back and accommodating. My guests are always happy with my recommendations so definitely don't hesitate to ask. I know the city well. I am well-organized and always available for questions.

Thanks for looking :)

  • Stayed for a long weekend in Sunny DC. Brynn's place was in a great spot, not far from the action on U street. Nice small apt, perfect for my wife and i to getaway. Brynn was super helpful, and after a minor snafu with the cleaning agency even reimbursed my cleaning fee! Would definitely stay here again, thanks for everything Brynn!

  • Did not have much contact with host...However, everything was "as described" view was outstanding, both frm roof top and of Meridian park...

  • We stayed in April for 11 nights in this apartment, it was very nice to have as a home-away-from-home, it made our stay in DC really pleasant! The neighborhood is good, and it is close to the restaurants on 18th street, close to the U street metro, close enough to walk to Dupont Circle (& metro). The view on the park across the street is great, we enjoyed it every morning during breakfast.

It really is a studio for two, I would not recommend it for more people as it is spacious but does not have a separate bedroom. The apartment had everything we needed and Brynn was very helpful and quick when something did not work as required.
It is our first airBnB experience and we were very pleasantly surprised. I will definitely stay here again if I get a chance.

  • We have had a very good experience staying here. Brynn was easy to contact, the apartment was clean and in a very nice area of the city, and the free parking was a treat.

  • The apartment was just what we expected and worked well for my husband, my two teenage boys, and me. The view is lovely and made the small space feel spacious. The Metro is a few blocks away and there is also a Trader Joe's close by to pick up groceries. We would happily stay there again!

Parking Tip regarding street sweeping on Mondays: I imagine that the street sweeping schedule changes, but while we were there it was (phone number hidden) a.m. There is plentiful parking nearby for short-time durations of up to a couple of hours. However, if you are like us, and are leaving for the day (we had scheduled tours on the Mall) and you need an all-day parking alternative, it is pretty tough to find something nearby. So, just factor that into your plan. Other than street cleaning day, we were able to park right next to the apartment in un-metered parking without any trouble.

About
I am an attorney, a writer and a humble public servant. I relocated to DC from Brooklyn; my family lives in Massachusetts and I left my heart in Hawaii. I want to move back there someday but I can't do it unless I pay off my law school loans and become the real estate mogul I was destined to be and that is why I am on this site.
