The Naschmarkt area near the Opera is one of the loveliest area's of Vienna, alive day and night with many art galleries, ceramic workshops, small bars and restaurants
The Naschmarkt is an attraction on itself, the place for delicates, for fresh produce directly from the Austrian countryside, adventure breakfasts and the historical Art Neuveau houses
On Saturday dont forget to pay a visit to the flee market, Austria's largest of its kind.
The historical Theater an der Wien where Beethoven had is performances hasnt change since that time and serves now as Vienna's (in my opinion) best opera house.
From here you can walk to all of the major attractions in the old city like the State Opera House, the Albertina museum, Hofburg palace (treasuty, Sisi appartments and many many other musuems).
Subway U4 Kettenbrückengasse is in our street. Wien-Mitte train station is only 5 minutes away.. The airport is only 24 minutes away. Westbahnhof just 8 minutes.

Completely enjoyed my stay at the apartment. Was there for two nights, in Unit G. (There appear to be three units). The pictures shown were different, although similar, than the room I stayed in, but it was even better than the pictures. The place was beautifully decorated, and spotlessly clean. Tiny bathroom, but fully functional. Only room for one person at a time. Apartment was great for one or two people, probably crowded for more than that. Bed was comfortable and the windows looked into the courtyard. Could hear a little noise from neighbors but nothing that disturbed my stay. Michael was attentive (via e-mail) and made sure that I had everything I needed while I was there. Location is wonderful. Two blocks from subway station, but close enough to walk to Inner City area where the State Opera and other attractions are if you like to walk. Free wifi provided, kitchen fully stocked with dishes if you choose to eat in the apartment. Grocery stores nearby. Great hamburger and beer restaurant on the corner. Residential neighborhood. Best rental experience I've had yet on AirBnB!
4) Хозяин очень внимателен: предложил заказать такси как из аэропорта, так и обратно (вышло дешевле, чем мы ожидали и чем в среднем по городу, туда 31 евро, обратно - 35 евро);
заранее сообщил все необходимые коды для входа в подъезд и квартиру;
предоставил пароли для входа в Интернет;
кроме своих телефонов сообщил контактный номер женщины, осуществляющей уборку:
интересовался, все ли нас устраивает в течение пребывания в апартаментах.
1) Интернет работал с досадными перебоями;
Perfect apartment to discover Vienna. 5 minutes walk to Naschmarkt, nearby there are citybike stations, where you can rent freely a bike and explore the city.
The apt is very well equiped, and check ins and outs are absolutely flexible due to numeric door locks.
Nearby there are several bars, cafes, shops. I recommend Motto.
We stayed there 4days, and I am sure anytime We are going to Vienna again we will stay here. Thanks Michael.
Michael's apartment was extremely convenient. The location is perfectly situated near the subway station and the markets, with a number of restaurants and bars nearby. His electronic lock system made checking in and out a breeze.
This apartment was a perfect location for me to explore Vienna. Easy access to Naschmarkt, the Innere Stadt, and surrounding neighborhoods. Everything in the apartment was as described and wifi worked fine. I found using a keycode instead of a key very convenient-- one less item to keep track of while enjoying Vienna. I should say as a solo female, I found this apartment and neighborhood very safe. Michael was a good host and instantly available when I had difficulty opening the door my first night. Many thanks!
This unit was perfect for our short stay in Vienna. It is actually a unit within a larger apartment that has been split into multiple units but the size and amenities were perfect for a two people. Michael's remote controlled locks allow for easy check-in and check-out which is great for a flexible travel schedule. The neighborhood was perfect as we were there on a Saturday to enjoy the market which begins 500m from the apartment. Overall a very pleasant experience and we would stay there again if in Vienna.
We had a lovely stay in Vienna at Michael's apartment. The apartments are set up as your own space with bathroom, kitchenette, bed etc but the entrance is the same for all. I think there are 3 apartments in total. Bed is comfortable, everything was clean and kitchen provided everything you need for basic cooking. You might have difficulty if you are planning on doing a lot of cooking, the area is very small. I just used it for cutting up bread, cheese and fruit for breakfast.
The directions from Michael were really easy to follow, he even directed us to the station exit so we could use the lift. We also did a few loads of washing (laundry) for 5 euros we wash.
The location is great. Close to a station and we got the 3 day travel card so we used the subway a lot. It is also close to the outside food market, check it out if you stay here. The area is quiet and there is a lot going on in the streets close by for food etc.
Very efficient set up, clean apartment, close to the market and a comfortable walk to the center. No complaints, and I would stay here again if I returned to Vienna.
Our stay in the flat was very nice. The close market was really helpful and had delicious snacks and food to choose from. The public transportation stops were very close and easy to navigate. The wi-fi was okay. Laundry was shared and the hours you could use it made it impossible for us to do so and still go on our outings. The flat was in a shared space, more like a dorm room. Maybe that is typical, but it's not what we expected. One door leads you into 4 different apartment areas with shared phone/laundry space. Not bad, but a little less private than we would have preferred.
The laundry on the floor is shared but hardly used by our guests, so its almost always available.
It is prohibited by law in Austria to use the washer and dryer in the night. It is allowed to use from 8 AM to 8 PM. The washer has an express program of only 20 minutes. So you can put your laundry while having breakfast and transfer it to the dryer just before you leave, so you have it dry and ready when you are back.
Since our location is so central, many like to have a short break and rest at noon time-another possiblity to take care of laundry as wel.
We really wanted to be in a non-tourist area yet have access to some great aspects of Vienna and Michael's apartment provided that and more. The Naschtmarkt food market with its colorful stalls and endless choice of lively restaurants gave us that local feeling we were seeking and enabled us to shop for great food to make for breakfast as well as have a nearby destination for dinner after a full day of taking in the sights.
Michael was an accommodating host and very fast to communicate and sent good instructions as to how to access the building. The washer/dryer is in an awkward corridor and cannot be run later at night when you are most likely to want to use it.
