Hi guys Gaby and Robert here: to get a feel how close we are, look at the video http://(website hidden)/watch?v=qVzgLcDjWzY
Please don't be put off by this listing being outside of Manhattan. We are closer to Midtown Manhattan, Times Square, Theater District, Madison Square Garden, Grand Central Empire State Building, Saint Patrick's Cathedral, and Rockefeller Center than staying in other parts of Manhattan (Wall St., Upper East or West Side, above 70s... We are closer than all parts of Brooklyn and definitely way closer than staying in Queens/Bronx).
Newly decorated private apt. in Union City, NJ. Union City is on the other side of the Lincoln Tunnel and therefore very close (15 min. bus ride) to Port Authority/Times Square area.
Private luxurious apt. with two queen size beds, night-stands, open spacious central air and heat, beautiful hardwood floors and exquisite mahogany color to help you relax after a day of sightseeing and shopping or whatever you please. We will welcome you with open arms.
Take a bath or soak in marble soaking tub with a shower head that makes you feel like you bathing in the rain, a great kitchen right out of a James Bond movie. A beautiful large living room where you can sit down to a glass of wine, hear your favorite music, eat a snack. This is what Robert & Gaby your hosts will provide for you. They will greet you as part of your family; if you need them or request them, they will be right there for your assistance. Your privacy and accommodation will be our responsibility and our pleasure.
About the neighborhood:
The neighborhood is quiet and very nice, 100 steps from a family grocery to buy what you need. Walking distance to banks, pharmacy, and 15 minutes from midtown Manhattan (Time Square/Port Authority Bus Terminals). You'll reach Midtown faster from this location than from locations even located in Manhattan.

Great energy and very peaceful! Feel free to message me with any questions!
There was a key mixed up at check-in. But Gaby allowed us to just take the available room. The wall is thin as the other reviewers have noticed. The shower is shared by 5 rooms at the same floor. It pays to get up early. There is a nice Thai restaurant on 29th street. It is also quite easy to get to Manhattan with the "chicken bus" from 30th street.
Gabi, I had a great two days staying at your apartment!
NY was very close, and local area was great. I felt really save, everything was convenient and the room was spacious. Wi-fi was good. I always had immediate support by phone when I needed it.
It was great that I could leave my bags in the closet of the apartment to pick them up later.
There was just one flow - one of the walls of the room is not soundproof, and when there was a guest in the next room, I could hear him walking, breathing. But I sleep with earplugs, so this flow was just a minor sand grain in a totally positive experience )))
I would definitely come to this place again and again.
Starting with the downside, the walls are very thin so you can hear everything from people walking up the stairs to people talking in the room next to your room. Also, if you are intending to stay late in NYC, this is probably not the best place for you (after 12PM the buses come every hour or so and the port authority station gets a bit sketchy). The neighborhood is relatively quiet but does not have much around. Going to the city takes about 15-30 min depending on the traffic. On a good note, the apartment and the room were very clean and had trashes emptied out every morning. The host was fairly responsive and did a good job maintaining the place. Overall, I would recommend this place for people who have a car, who are looking for a bit inconvenient but affordable place to stay near NYC, and who are not sensitive to noises (because you can literally hear EVERYTHING that goes on on your floor).
Great, safe location! *A great find*
This was my first (email hidden) and the whole process was easy and detailed. My fiance stayed over for a period of 10 nights and he very much enjoyed his time at one of Gaby's location. We had a lot of wedding preparations to take care of so the open space and quiet atmosphere helped us a lot.
The rooms were always clean, quiet and very convenient to hop on a bus and meet me at various locations within NJ. Everything is close by: laundromats, grocery stores, transportation, restaurants, etc (highly recommend Sol Chicken on Bergenline Ave! Large portions at an affordable price). (email hidden) to stay, very close to a 'home away from home'.
Gaby and Robert are very accommodating and helpful hosts!
Highly recommend this place and would definitely book with them again in the near future.
The apartment is just like how you see in the pictures in a safe area. Heater worked excellently as well as hot water. They have a kitchen for those of you who want to cook.
Things you might have to consider: bus schedule. Everyday we took a bus in and out which could be fast late at night and early in the morning. However if u are a later bird, you will get stuck in traffic. Busses dont run after certain time so you cant hang out too (email hidden). When we re in the city during the winter, it was cold and tired having to walk in the snow, know that u cant just bus back becuz itd cost bus fee and take u half a day. Well we went through w it becuz the pricing and room were a lot better than in the city.
The place is not sound proof well so definitely bring your ear plugs. Also, check in time is not flexible as mentioned. Dont fly in too early like us and ended up having to wait in the cold 37 degrees and then dragged out luggages to a donut places 3 blocks away back and forth to wait until we could check in.
No trash can in the room but they have towels for you. Bathroom is shared with the entire floor so it reminds me of how it was in college dorm lol waiting checking and all. This rooms lock does not work well and I did let Gabby know but its still not fixed after a week of staying. The bathroom was also leaking with some yellow liquid from the top floor the last few days there. Gabby is sweet and welcoming. They have a maid to come and clean the apartment but not your room.
I have a mixed experience. The price matches the experience during new year, the time we came. Oh, dragging our luggages in the snow to the bus station was like running obstacle courts in the snow, quite a work. Lol. Have fun in new york!
This is definitely a keeper!, the place is tidy-clean, nice-natural-light fills the place and it's very spacious and cozy. Sadly we did not have a chance to meet Gaby and Robert in person but they are very friendly and they make you feel at home from the first minute.
Just a couple blocks and you are on your way on the bus to NY (10-15 minute ride). It'(email hidden) and neighborhood. We cannot stress enough our recommendation it and how we can's wait to go back and (email hidden)anks so much Gaby and Robert for the hassle-free lodging week!.

The room was perfect. Fast Bus connection to Times Square.
We had a lovely second visit. Thank you Gaby!
I stayed in Gaby's from 4th July to 9th July 2013. This is an apartment in Union City, New Jersey. However, transport to Port Authority, New York runs very frequently from the bus stop nearby. But do note that the bus #123 to get back to the apartment from Port Authority only runs till 1am. I had a scary experience of missing this last bus and had to take an alternative to the nearby town past 1am, and walked a long way to get home. The apartment is located (email hidden) and other than residences, there is a humble grocery store, laundromat and a nice nail parlor. Coming from a foreign land, Gaby has provided a very comfortable, well-maintained home. There is a well-equipped kitchen as well as a lounge. My favourite has to be the bathroom that is equipped with a nice tub. There is no TV, neither a convenience store nearby, so do get some juice or milk for the late nights. I will recommend this apartment to anyone looking to visit NYC. Be sure to check out the Jersey Gardens Outlet Mall for great shopping in Victoria Secrets and Nine West outlets, just to name a few.
Gaby really came through for us on this booking. We weren't sure until the day before when we would be in New York so it was a very last minute booking. She was great at accommodating us, letting us stay in one of her other places for a couple of days until the renovations were complete on this one and ready for us to move in.
The house and all its trimming are beautiful. It's fresh, bright and clean. Everything is brand new. The location really is only about 10min from time square with a short walk to the very frequent "Chicken Bus" to the the Port Authority at any time of day or night. You could go anywhere from there.
Gaby and her family don't live here - From what I gathered form the people we shared the kitchen and bathroom with, the rest of the rooms are occupied by other travelers. Gaby lives not too far away though and is happy to pop in should you need anything. She (email hidden) in that way. She even came back at 10.30 at night with Vicks Vapor Rub and honey ginger tea when she found out I had come down with a nasty cold. We appreciated the small touches - like there is a kettle, not just a coffee maker like the other hotels etc we stayed in. As Aussies who like a nice cuppa it was a very welcome change to the hotels etc we had been staying in .
As the apartment was on the tail end of the renovations so a few things were missing. The cable was connected but there was no TV yet. There was also no couch in the lounge room. As I said before, I was sick for a few days and a TV and a couch would have been a welcome change from my bedroom. But, with the attention to detail Gaby has shown throughout the rest of the place, I'm sure that will all be added in the near future.
Our only real minus with the house is that sound carries inside - a lot! I felt sorry for our house mates because I had a nasty cough and I was worried I was keeping them awake. We could hear the people in the rooms on either side of us too.
