Stunning view of the San Juans, our home is conveniently located with easy access to 550, 2 miles from town. We are animal friendly, having a dog, cat & llamas. Ouray County is the jeep capital of the world. Hike, bike, zip-line, use the hot springs, boat, fly or shore fish, raft, golf or enjoy winter ice climbing, x-c skiing or ski Telluride. John Wayne's"True Grit" movie was filmed in Ridgway.. Dennis Weaver, of Duel, Gunsmoke and McCloud fame called Ridgway home. Don't miss the Memorial Park donated by the Weaver family. Stop and see our Railroad Museum, with our Galloping Geese.
Our home is a two story log house with three guest bedrooms and three baths. This listing is the king bedroom. The second listing is the queen bedroom and the third listing has two twin beds. The large adjoining family room is a great place for cards, dominos, or board games or just viewing the mountains.
M-E volunteers at the Ridgway Visitor Center. She can give you ideas about how to maximize your enjoyment of the area. A 4 wheel drive car is necessary to do off road driving.
Upstairs in the co-shared family room there is a small refrigerator, coffee, tea, coffee pot, glasses and cups for the guests to use.
Interaction with Guests
We love talking with our guests. But if they want peace and quiet we respect their wishes.
The view of the San Juan Mountains from our deck is awesome. We are right on the bicycle/walking trail and only 2 miles from the town of Ridgway.
This is rural Colorado. A car is needed to get around here.
We are smoke Free. We do not have a separate house entrance but our front door is right by the stairway to the second floor. If you come in late or leave early, we will never hear you.
You are welcome to bring your well behaved, friendly dog. We charge $5 per night and require a $100 refundable damage deposit
Dick and M-E were warm and welcoming. The room was very nice. It was a quiet retreat that fit the bill after a long hike. I would definitely recommend it to fellow travelers!

We had a nice room. It was comfortable and had a beautiful view of the mountains. The space was quiet and peaceful.
We enjoyed our stay with M. E, and Dick in their log house. The house is very comfortable and the view is magnificent. M. E. and Dick were fun to talk with over breakfast.
Our hosts welcomed us warmly, gave us recommendations when we asked and encouraged us to explore this beautiful place.
