  • Great experience at the Riad Dar Soufia. JJac was a great host. He helped us arrange transport from and to the airport, which was very handy and he gave us information on all the good places to go in Marrakesh. The housekeeper cooked us the most delicious, traditional Moroccan feast for our first day in Marrakesh. I highly recommend.

The riad has everything you could possibly need. Perfect location, just a 5 or so minutes walk from the main square, yet far away enough for it to be away from all the hustle and bustle. The rooftop terrace was lovely to chill out on.

Would definitely some back and stay.

  • We had an excellent stay with Jean Jacques in Marrakech, Morocco. We chose the driver option as well, who picked us up from the airport and after a bit of confusion brought us safely to the riad. The photos are very representative of the riad, which is beautiful. There was a safe for our passports, and a maid who came to clean the riad each morning. We did not partake in the optional meals, although we did use the sun deck and the indoor pool. Jean Jacques was communicative and accommodating. One aspect that was initial missing was the Internet wifi, which I was glad we asked about. Jean Jacques was very responsive and had us hooked up shortly thereafter. The signal is not strong, but then again, this is Morocco! The water pressure is so-so. The bedrooms are great. The neighborhood was safe and a 5-6 minute walk to the main plaza. I recommend meeting Jean Jacques and staying at his lovely riad!

  • The house is located in a very quiet area close to the place Jemaa el Fna and other sights. The house and the rooms are beautiful and very well maintained. The sleeping rooms are moderately but very nicely decorated and have comfortable beds. The roof terrace is ideal to relax after a long sightseeing day or to have breakfast in the morning.

Jean Jacques was very helpful. He organized pick-up at the airport and breakfast for us at the Medina. He also gave us useful tips on where and what to visit as well as some background information. Very helpful. Thank you

  • We had a great time staying at Dar Soufia. The Riad is centrally located, but in a quiet street. It was easy to find once we got our bearings, and we welcomed being a few streets away from the bustle of the main square. The roof terrace was a lovely place to take breakfast and for star-spotting in the evening, despite some low temperatures. Airport transfers were easily arranged and Siad, our driver, was very good humoured when our flight was delayed. We felt welcomed by everyone connected to the house - we would certainly stay again if visiting Marrakech in the future.

    Many thanks

  • We were at "dar marly" for 3 days, the experience was amazing, the riad was very clean and really good located, 5 min walking from la place jmaa el fna. Jean and Philippe were very helpfull. Breakfast at home, wifi, beds, toilets etc was also good. For sure I would repeat with Jean.

  • Things we didn't like about our stay:
1.We were placed in a different Riad then the one we booked.
2.The owner and housekeeper would just walk in without knocking whenever they pleased, which was awkward and didnt make us feel at home there.
3.Not clean at all. the kitchen was so greasy it didn't feel right to cook in there and there was rotten fruit in the kitchen when we arrived.

    Things that we liked:
1.The owner was friendly and helpful
    2. we had a nice roof terrace
3.The housekeeper mad us a very nice meal on the day we arrived.

  • The riad is very nice! There were 4 of us and we had it to ourselves. It is well placed to be both easy to find (located next to a well signposted restaurant) and very central so that we were close to everything we wanted to see in Medina. I would recommend this riad very highly! J.Jac was very friendly, helpful and accommodating and I would rate him highly as a host.

One small issue was the wifi didn't work, however we didn't bother to contact J.Jac to see if he could sort it out as we didn't really need it so it probably isn't a problem if wifi is required.

Also I would recommend the breakfast option. Although I didn't pre-order it I am very glad we chose to take it.

  • A truly fantastic traditional Riad, which was just perfect for our week of relaxation. The location is great, being only 10 minutes’ walk from the “square”, down a quiet back street, and centrally located in the Medina (spice market to the south and main souks to the north). The three double rooms and two bathrooms were ideal for our family of four adults. With the plunge pool on the ground floor, and the sunny and private roof terrace it was just great to unwind.
Jean Jacques was charming and helpful, having organised a taxi to pick us up from the airport. Said (taxi driver) was also great, so we used him for trips to the Atlas mountains (Orica market on Mondays) and to Essaouira on the coast.
Souad would come in each morning to clean, and kindly prepared three delicious Moroccan meals for us over the week.
We would not hesitate to recommend this Riad, and give it the full 5 stars!
