This beautifully designed, modern space offers all the conveniences and luxuries for a comfortable and relaxing stay in Red Hook.
The apartment boasts a bright and airy feeling, wireless internet, cable television (with all premium channels), a sleek kitchenette with a gorgeous marble countertop, spacious dining/work table and a luxurious bathroom with marble flooring and a heated towel warmer.
Comfortable for one to two guests, this studio apartment will provide you the luxuries of a hotel with the warmth and privacy of a home.
A quick walk to both Carroll Gardens and Red Hook shops and restaurants, a short subway ride into Manhattan, along with an easy walk to Red Hook’s beautiful piers and waterfront.
NYC AIRBNB UPDATE: With all the drama going on with AIRBNB in the city, we would like to emphasize the fact that this AIRBNB property is located in our private home which is owned by us. You are not subleasing another host’s rental apartment which can get dicey, or staying in a cooperative or condominium building that might have rules against short term AIRBNB visitors. For now, private homes and two family houses seem to be exempt from this new city ruling (which we are!)
We just installed a convenient key-less system! All guests will receive a code for easy access to their apartment. This means flexible check-ins without having to meet for key swapping!
No pets & no smoking
I stayed at Orren's place for a week and it was great. The studio is cool, clean and cozy, and gets a surprising amount of natural light for a basement apartment. There were also a lot of small touches that made my stay very comfortable.
The apartment is sandwiched between Carroll Gardens (a beautiful family-friendly neighborhood with tree-lined streets and great cafes and restaurants) and Red Hook (an up-and-comping industrial waterfront neighborhood with trendy shops and restaurants). It's a short walk from the subway, the waterfront, and an amazing grocery store.
I'd recommend this place to people who want an authentic Brooklyn experience and a quiet retreat from the hustle and bustle of NYC.
Thanks to Orren for being a great host! I will definitely try to book this place on my next trip.
A comfy and clean apartment in charming Red Hook!
Location: Having never previously been to Red Hook, my husband and I were initially a bit hesitant to stay in the area. We were definitely wrong in that regard. Filled with quirky little restaurants and with a real authentic vibe, Red Hook was fun to explore and a real surprise. The apartment is a pleasant 10 minute walk to a subway stop. We took the subway at all hours, even at 4am one morning, and always felt safe and secure.
Hosts: Orren and his wife provided great local tips and recommendations and were genuinely great people. Orren was kind enough to drive us through Red Hook to show us the area on the day we arrived.
All in all, we had an amazing experience and are certain we would not have experienced New York the way we did had we not stayed in Red Hook. We'd recommend the apartment to anyone who wants to explore New York like a true New Yorker.
We had a nice stay - the studio was clean and worth the price. The area of red hook and Carroll street had a lot of nice restaurants and coffee shops.
However the bed was fairly soft. Otherwise we enjoyed our stay in Redhook.

Thank you Orren. It was great experience spend the week in New York and your apartment.
Orren made us feel very welcome by introducing himself to us as we had booked the appartment and was very friendly everytime we had something to ask. The door system was very practical as it had a code that Orren gave us, so we could check-in when it was suitable for us. The appartment itself was clean with comfy bed. Though the smell was awful in front of the door (pee?). Also I didn't feel very safe in this neighbourhood - surroundings were not very nice imo. The problem was the long way to downtown. It took us something like 40 minutes to get to Manhattan. Maybe some people are quicker :) As we spent only 4 nights in NY it took too much time to travel twice a day to and from Manhattan. And the taxi drivers don't find this appartment. :(
All in all, the appartment is clean and nice and has lots of space. Still, if you have only a couple of days in NY, I would recommend a hotel room downtown to be able to use your time more effectively. Btw. the restaurant tips that Orren gave were excellent! :)
PS. One would feel safer if there was a lock on the door inside the appartment.
