Our stay at Riad Dar Kamar was perfect! The riad is absolutely spot on - better than the pictures in fact! Jean jack was the perfect host and gave us some great recommendations and the house ladies made us a very delicious morrocan feast one evening. Will definitely come again. Caroline and the gang
Beautiful and spacious accommodations, fantastic location, and warm and gracious hosts, all resulted in a relaxing -- and at times exhilarating -- vacation. The Riad is well appointed, cleaned daily, and has every amenity. The rooftop terrace and jacuzzi are particularly nice. It is so quiet that you would never suspect you are but a 5-minute walk from the marvelous chaos of Jemaa el Fna. The hosts were genial, available for questions, but otherwise unobtrusive. As I returned to Dar Kamar in the late evening from a day's worth of exploring the Medina, I felt like I was coming home to a charming, secret garden that only I knew, although it is a "secret" I will certainly share with friends and family. Big thanks to Jean Jacques and co. for an unforgettable time.
A beautiful little haven in the heart of Marrakech. Literally two minutes walk from a bustling street that leads right to Jamaa El-Fnaa - the main square in the Medina, this is exactly what we were hoping for from a traditional Riad in Morocco. Homely, clean and quiet and at night, brilliantly dark. Great for a good night's sleep! Each room has it's own en suite, great showers (water can take a while to heat up) and subtle lightning which is very relaxing. There's also a big fridge, nice kitchen with stove and oven - not that we cooked much with so much great food nearby. And an amazing bonus - a hot tub on the roof! The terrace is a great place to eat and relax at night and a sun trap by day.
Location wise it's perfect too. The Souks are very close at hand - as is the square. But its also close to the Bahia Palace, the spice markets and... well pretty much everything! On the street which leads to the Riad you'll find excursion places which are really handy.
We had a great experience staying here. Jean Jaques was very friendly and served us mint tea on the sun terrace as we arrived and gave us the tour. I would recommend taking him up on the offer of a transfer from the airport as Said took us right to the front door (it's quite tricky to find first time round). He was very hospitable throughout, stuck around to make sure the WIFI worked (it didn't at first) and was generally a great host.
Our host made us feel extremely welcome on arrival and was very helpful and easily contactable during our stay. We enjoyed the beautiful décor of the riad. The rooftop terrace is a great place to relax and the children especially loved the jacuzzi - which was warm even in February! I liked the riad's location in the heart of the Medina - the riad is a quiet haven from the bustling souks! We had a great stay. Thankyou
Philippe was a great host - helpful and always available. The riad is gorgeous and in the perfect location, quiet but just a couple of minutes away from the main square. Unfortunately the jacuzzi didn't work, which was a real shame, and the wifi was only repaired towards the end of our stay. However, our hosts more than made up for it and we had a great stay at this lovely riad. A word of warning: if you're heading to Marrakesh in the winter, beware that it gets very cold at night! Overall we loved this riad and would definitely recommend it.
Incredibly welcoming with a blazing fire and the wonderful smell of tagine coming from the kitchen. A perfect introduction to Marrakesh. Rooms were very comfortable. Bathrooms are lovely. Superb but peaceful, very central location. We'll be happy to stay there again on our next trip to Marrakesh.
The pictures accurately show this beautiful and peaceful riad, where I stayed with my friends.
And the location couldn't be better, less than 5 minutes walk from the main square.
We had issues on the first night with hot water, and the heating, but Jean-Jacques solved it the next day.
Will recommend it to friends.
