This is the perfect holiday home when visiting Iceland. Great location for daytrips to many of Icelands wonders and cozy when relaxing after a good day.
Just 1 hour drive from Reykjavík and 1,5 from Keflavík airport.

The cabin has all modern amenities and comfortable beds in three bedroom (beds 200x160cm, 200x140 and 135x190 and finally one pull out bed in the livingroom 190x75cm).
It is located in a peaceful valley with view over a lake. Nature all around.

The house is a typical icelandic holiday home that we use with our family. We are glad to share our place with you.

The area:
The house is located in a beautiful valley called Svínadalur, about 15min drive from the ring-road nr 1. It is a very safe area with nature all around. Good for hiking up the mountain hill or down to the lake. Thera are a few short walking paths in the neighborhood and a map of those is provided.
Our house is among other holiday homes within a closed area (with a closed gate). It stands high in the hill in a peaceful place far from most other houses.

The house:

The house has all modern comfort and is warm and safe all year round. There is enough warm and cold water.
Our favorite is the hot tub which can be used all year.

The kitchen and living room are bright and well equipped with good seating for 6 people. Stove, oven, dish-washer, fridge and freezer and so on. Great view from big windows

There is only one bathroom with a small shower. Just outside the door we have a hot tub and an outdoor shower.
Disadvantage: Both showers have a rather slow waterflow sometimes, because of how high in the hill the cabin is located.

There are 3 bedroom. All have good beds with bedlinen.

Sleeping arrangement:

Bedroom 1: Big and bright. Beautiful window with view from bed. Bed size 200x160 (queen size). Suits 2 person.

Bedroom 2: Smaller room but has good bed 200x140cm (Full bed/double bed). Bed only accessible from one side. Suits 2 person.

Bedroom 3: Smaller but good bed 190x135cm (double bed). Bed only accessible from one side of bed. Suits 1 adult or possibly 2 kids.

Pull out sofa bed in livingroom: A sofa turned bed for 1 person. Bed size 75x190cm. Note there are no blocking curtains in the living room so the room is not dark during bright icelandic nights. Suits 1 person.

Guest access
Guests do have the whole house for themselves.
There is a storage/sleeping attic accessible by a steep ladder. The attic is generaly not prepared for guests, mostly used by host as storage during guests stay.

Other things to note
We generally do not provide access to washing machine. Upon request and agreement we might be able to find solutions though.
