The house is a Traditional high ceiling Neoclassical building with private entrance, built in 1924 right next to the Acropolis at Filopappou Hill.
Five minutes walking distance from all the main attractions(Acropolis museum,Plaka,Thissio etc)
As you can see in the pictures, the rooms are part of a large two-storey Neoclassical house at Filopappou Hill. A Traditional Greek Neoclassical house is a rare thing to find in Athens, since many have been demolished through the years, but those who are still standing are renovated and considered landmarks.
The Filopappou hill is situated just in the historical center of Athens, in 5 minutes walking distance of Acropolis and Plaka,15 minutes to Syntagma, Monastiraki and Thissio area.
The house is on the ground floor and measures 130 square meters. It has two bedrooms, one with a king size bed and a second one with a queen size bed and a sofa bed, a large kitchen with a big wooden dining table (with a nice breakfast waiting for you),a spacious living room with two sofas (one that can be transformed into a bed as well) and a bathroom with a spacious bathtub.
The whole apartment is very bright and cheerful, with lovely colors and beautiful furniture, made with style and love. It is ideal for your stay in Athens.
The apartment is fully equipped with everything one needs to live comfortably in everyday life. The location is unique, located 3 minutes from a metro station, right into the hill where one can ride and walk (where every walk or ride should begin so as to discover Athens), 5 minutes walking distance from the Acropolis Museum as well.
The neighborhood is very quiet and very close you can find restaurants, bars and supermarkets.
My presence there will be almost unnoticeable. I am at work many hours per day and i enjoy going out to dinner or a movie to relax, after work.
Therefore you will only see me when you will want to see me, so as for me to help you with your stay or give you ideas and proposals concerning your stay in Athens!
Lock the door when you leave the premises
Be quiet after midnight
Keep the place clean as you would do at home
Relax and enjoy your stay!
We had a very short overnight stay but found Katrina to be a lovely, friendly hostess. Her home is spacious and very close to the Acropolis, bars and some lovely restaurants. The area has a pleasant old world feel to it as does her homely accommodation.
Thank you Patrice for your kind words.
About some commence you made i 'd like to remind you that you had rend the house as "Private room" and not as "Entire home".So,apparently in this case i'll have all my personal things in the space, because i also leave there.
I absent all day from home due to work, but i am coming back sometime to sleep.
In your case,as you noticed you had the hall apartment all day and night for you, without my present(and during the night too). What else can you ask when you are rending a private room in a house?
Thank's again and who knows, may be i'll see you sometime again.
Katerina, you were a wonderful host and made our short stay one to remember. Thank for recommending such delicious food and ordering a cab for us it made our stay so much more enjoyable. You made us feel at home and welcome in your beautiful home!
Katerina was a wonderful host. The apartment is very conveniently located to all the major sites yet is in a very quiet area. All was wonderful and I very much recommend this place.
Katerina's lovely home was the perfect base for our holiday in Athens.
It is centrally located and is within walking distance to pretty much everything! The Acropolis and the Museum are just around the corner and the neighbourhood is teaming with restaurants, stores and amenities such as a supermarket, self-service launderette, bakery, pharmacy, etc. It is also safe and friendly.
The tram line is just down the road and just a little further from that is the metro station, which connects to the airport line.
Katerina's home is exactly as she's pictured in her post and it is clean, tidy and welcoming. It was lovely to have breakfast provided for us, and with the use of her kitchen, we were able to make simple snacks and light warm meals.
As a hostess, Katerina was welcoming and meticulous with information and instructions regarding her home and her city. Maps and tourist information was readily available and her restaurant recomendations was just what we needed! :-)
So thank you once again, Katerina - for your lovely home and for your hospitality.
Arriving late evening Katerina was there to welcome us. She was friendly and helpful throughout our stay.
The apartment is is a great location - walking distance to the Acropolis and there are many bars and restaurants nearby.
There are ceiling fans but no AC and it was very hot.
It was good to have use of the kitchen and lots of nice cold water in the fridge.
Thank you Katerina.
Katerina made us feel welcome upon arrival and even allowed us to drop our luggage when we arrived early so we could have lunch. The neighborhood felt very safe to walk around. I would highly recommend Katherina as a hostess again.
