Lovely stay in Shelly's home. Excellent location, and perfect for my nine days in Bath. Thanks Shelly!
Shelley was a very kind, warm and helpful host, and her home is an enormous, beautiful and well-kept 4-floor townhouse that is a joy to stay in. We stayed two very restful nights in the large double bedroom on the top floor and would definitely return if we were back in the area.
Shelley welcomed me and showed me the room, the bathroom and kitchen and the keys to the front door. The room is a spacious room at the top of the house - four flights up with a good view of houses in Bath. My stay was quiet and the location was very near my daughter's place so that I could go and see her and her new baby very easily.
Me and my boyfriend spent 3 nights in Shelley's house and it was great.
Despite some initial misunderstandings (caused by airBnB IT glitches), everything went smoothly.
It was my first time using this service and I was very pleased.
Shelley is very laid back and made us feel welcome and at ease in her house, as well as her son Louis and their lovely dog.
The house is about a 20 minute walk uphill from the Train station, in a very nice neighbourhood, within walking distance from the centre of Bath (about 5-10 min).
The room is on the top floor and the bathroom is shared with the family.
There is a boiler (or similar thing) right next to the room which got a bit noisy at times, but not too much. If you're too sensitive, a pair of ear plugs will completely block it out.
We were given towels and allowed to help ourselves to breakfast in the kitchen until 10am.
To sum it up, I totally recommend Shelley as a host, and her house as a convenient and comfortable place to stay.
Shelley welcomed us and showed around the house, gave some good tips on how to orientate around Bath. She also kindly sorted the parking for us so we could explore the city with peace of mind. The atmosphere was very relaxed; the house is quite big and since we stayed right at the top it felt very peaceful too, and in the mornings we were encouraged to help ourself with the breakfast, which we did. Overall, the hostess was easy to interact with and helpful with our queries, the location was superb and our room was comfortable and clean. The bed would probably not suit two tall basketaball players but for us it was cozy enough.
Shelley was a fantastic host - warm and welcoming, and even went out of her way to make our trip that little bit easier. Gorgeous and quirky accomodation. It was a truly a pleasure! If we ever pass through Bath again, I look forward to our paths crossing again.
This was our first experience with Airbnb and it will not be our last. Shelley's location in Bath was just what we were looking for. Keep in mind it's a top floor walk up which we didn't mind. Shelley was very pleasant to deal and the sort of host we had hoped to find through this experience.
