I have a five bedroom house with two available guest rooms. There is a private bathroom and one shared powder room. Both bedrooms are upstairs and accommodate two guests. The available guest room is Asian inspired and has a queen bed with new mattress and fluffy hotel pillows. The second guest room has two twin beds with new mattresses and a shabby chic decor.
The home was built in 2003 and I have been the only owner. My neighborhood is safe and quite and often patrolled by County Constables. My neighbors are friendly and approachable.
Please feel free to make your own breakfast or request the time you would like breakfast served. If you choose to make your own breakfast, enjoy a variety of cereals and breads, juice, coffee and microwaveable oatmeal. Banana bread is my specialty, but I also make maple pecan banana pancakes, french toast, waffles, scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, biscuits, grits, and omletts.
Please let me know of any dietary restrictions or favorite breakfast items.
Smoking is not permitted in our home, but smoking is allowed on the patio and fire pit area.
Within walking distance:
5 min walk to work-out station on our Hike & Bike trail. El Franco Lee Park
A bus line does run near our neighborhood, but it is not in walking distance. The best transportation is a rental car. Driving in Houston is easy especially since our home is near the belt way. Taxis can be pretty pricey around here. If I am going in your direction, you are welcome to ride with me.
I am an Internet research guru, so if you need help planning your trip, I would be glad to help.
You have access to the kitchen and everything in it so help yourself if I am not there.
Interaction with Guests
I try my best to be there when you arrive and in the mornings for breakfast , but sometimes commuting to my son's school early in the morning takes me away. I'm always just a phone call away.
Family oriented middle - class neighborhood with plenty of biking, running and walking paths. Our neighbors are friendly and most of us have pets.
There is no public transportation within walking distance, but there is a bus stop within a three minute car ride.
Other Things to Note
Breakfast is not guaranteed here. Weekends I can normally make breakfast, but week days are sometimes hard because I leave to work. But, there will always be cereal.
My number one rule is that you make yourself at home. Smoking is ok on either patio outside.
Respect my home. Please pick up after yourself.
Outdoor pets are fine. We have a dog run in back yard and large dog house.
You must communicate with me any problems so that I can make your stay the best experience. Please sign the guest book and stick a pin our globe.
We had a great time at Kelli's! The house and the rooms where just great and comfi! We'd love to stay there! Her breakfast was amazing- she even organized Nutella and German Mueali for us! Thanks that you let us stay with you !!
Keli is an amazing host. The room is just as described. The bed is comfortable. The bathroom is clean and the shower pressure is strong. What sets this room apart from others is Keli. She is super easy to talk to and genuinely cares about her guests. I remember one mornings had to leave at 6:00. As I'm leaving, she yells for me to wait so she can make me a breakfast to go. Who does that? I got a room, but I made a connection.
Room is exactly as pictured, you actually have an entire side to yourself. The bed is very comfortable, clean linens and soft towels. Kelli and her family are very welcoming. We stayed during the week so the house was very quiet, except for the occasional music from the am workout sessions her son holds in the garage. I was even able to use the washer and dryer. Kitchen was available for our use. Fruit, cereal and smoothies were available in the morning, in addition to coffee and tea. I loved the double sink in the bathroom, essential toiletries were also available. Her home is located in a great location between League City, which I love, and Houston.
It practically became my home away from home! I had just moved to the area and both Keli, her husband and her family made me feel extremely welcome and were there to answer my many questions! The room was fantastic and was an extremely welcome getaway after long days exploring the town. I appreciated everything that she had offered and more!
About the Host, Keli
I love life. I have retired early and now I am living the life that I have dreamed of. We traveled all over the world. I lived in Japan and Germany for many years. I absolutely love fashion and decorating both have become very expensive hobbies of mine. I have started a non profit organization to help women, Mainly veteran women, with PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder). All of the money I earn from airbnb is donated to that cause.
I love to work out with my personal trainer three days a week. You are welcome to join us for a small fee. This also goes to my charity.
I treat my guest the way I was raised. I always offer something to drink. Never leave your belly hungry and always there for good advice. My guests leave wanting to return again and again if nothing more than my German chocolate cake. I believe in giving a person there privacy and also being available when you need me.
My motto is Keep Calm and Eat Cake!
