Interaction with Guests
It is really up to the guests and our schedules. I think it is important to give guests their space and not to be too intrusive. But if you feel like some conversation.....
Great neighborhood dock and the West Ashley Greenway is nearby for walking or running.
It is best to get around the Charleston area by car.
Other Things to Note

Just be respectful and polite as you would wish in your home.
Please have breakfast in the breakfast area. Please do not take food into the bedroom.
Jim is a perfect host, along with the lovely dog Suzie! We had such a good stay with Jim and felt right at home. Our stay was comfortable and relaxing, we had our own space but had some great chats with Jim and he gave us some good recommendations for things to do. We'd love to stay again!
Last weekend I visited Charleston and was fortunate enough to stay in Jim's beautiful house. Not only did his immaculate home and private guest floor make our stay flawlessly enjoyable, but his enthusiasm for the city in which he lives made me instantly passionate about the area. Jim offered me incredibly well thought out and intelligent advice about everything from restaurants and cultural events to different neighborhoods and schools, which I found to be so generous and helpful. He gave us space when we needed it (after exploring downtown and were exhausted!) but was also genuinely interested and happy to hear about and discuss our lives and hopes, as we are moving to Charleston soon. Not to mention, Jim is a fabulously fascinating individual with a wealth of experience and much to offer those who are equally zealous about life!! Everything listed in the posting was accurate and I would recommend staying with Jim to ANYONE (and this is coming from a first time Air B&B user and a first-timer to Charleston). Before I forget, you can not get a sweeter dog than Suzie! Thank you for helping me form favorable, warm vibes towards Charleston... I attribute that largely to you, Jim!
We had a terrific stay! The home is very clean, comfortable, quiet and the company was fun and engaging. It was the perfect resting place after a busy day exploring the historic Holy City. It was so nice to have a quick breakfast to start our day. Jim, the host, is a pleasure to chat with and is helpful with any suggestions for things to do. He really made us feel at home. We are very pleased with this AirBNB experience!
Jim was absolutely fantastic and he was like visiting an old friend making us feel welcome in his home. Jim has a beautiful home and it’s convenient to anything in Charleston. His home, private room and bath are very clean and the neighborhood was quiet and relaxing. We highly recommend this listing in Charleston and would definitely stay with Jim again.
Jim was an excellent host, and Suzie, the dog was also welcoming! The carpet appeared to be new and the rest of the room was as clean as the other reviews mention. The stay came equipped with a map of downtown Charleston, wifi and a Dish magazine with recommended restaurants around the area.
When we crossed paths, Jim was welcoming and friendly, but otherwise, the stay was extremely private. With the guests staying upstairs and the host downstairs, there is a nice separation, yet at the same time, comfort of knowing that the host was downstairs if you needed him.
The neighborhood felt safe with families around. Travel was required to the heart of Charleston and could take more like 20-30 minutes to downtown depending on the time of day, because of traffic congestion.
Overall, very pleased with the stay and would recommend Jim's home to any friends or family that are traveling to Charleston.
