The apartment was impeccable! They were 5 of us, 2 adults and 3 children (3,7, and 9) for three nights. All was REALLY few minutes walk and no time was wasted to get the best out of Florence. There are several restaurants close by along with an "European" supermarket. Most of all you need is there. Of note: there is a huge park with an oasis/pool for an affordable price 20 minutes walk from there (Les Cascine). I recommend without hesitation the apartment, its location as well as the host himself David for a memorable stay in Florence.
David's apartment was great. The rooms face the courtyard so it was very quiet. The bottle of vino was an added delight. David was very professional with showing us around the apartment. The apartment fits four of us comfortably. David's recommended restaurants were equally wonderful, $10 euro for a 2 course meal with wine & water! The location is an easy stroll from all the major sights in Florence. Would definitely hope to stay here again for our next trip to Florence.
We loved our 5 day stay in David's apartment with our toddler. We found it to be very comfortable and it had everything we needed. The location is fantastic and it was great having a supermarket and local bakery round the corner. David was very welcoming and gave us a lot of helpful tips.
Absolutely wonderful! David was thorough, super helpful and always available. Would definitely recommend!
The apartment was fantastic, very neat and tidy, and met all our needs. While it was slightly tight for 6 people, this didn't really bother us as we were out most of the time, and hence the apartment served a good base to explore Florence. The apartment had everything we needed, including a kitchen that met our needs for self-catering. The location of the apartment is vey central, being a few minutes walk from the main train station, supermarket, and some of the major sites in Florence. There were also numerous restaurants close by that were very good and reasonably priced. David is a fantastic host, met us at the apartment on time, provided us with tips on things to do, places to see, and were to eat. His communication to us was very prompt and clear, including all we needed to know to use the facilities of the apartment. The nice bottle of wine left for our arrival was a nice surprise. Highly recommended.
This was my first experience with airbnb. I got a little nervous when we arrived. We were early so spent 30 minutes listening to the very loud construction coming from the 2nd floor. David arrived promptly at noon and walked us up about 50 manageable stairs, graciously carrying one of our bags. I was immediately surprised by how soundproof the apartment was - I couldn't hear any of the construction! I loved how tidy, modern and bright it was - the windows let in a lot of sunshine, which you can also block out. It was too hot to have the windows open, and the air conditioning worked perfectly. The shower was larger than normal, which was nice. We did laundry. Italy hang dries clothes outside but I don't think anyone who rents the apartment uses the clothesline. Instead there is a drying rack that I would love to have at home! I could not find laundry soap or paper towels in the apartment, which would have been convenient. Overall David and the apartment did not disappoint, and was exactly as stated. The master bedroom is large with lots of room for luggage, and I liked the large king bed. We are a family of 5 (3 teenagers) and in hindsight I should have realized we needed 2 bathrooms. The location is very easy. Try the delicious focaccia at the bakery David recommends! If you are an early riser like me and would like to enjoy an early take-away cappuccino, a cafe opens at 7am in the Piazza Santa Maria Novella. Checkout was simple - just leave the keys in the apartment and go. During our stay, we contacted David via airbnb email a couple times and he replied immediately - even at midnight! Thank you for the nice stay and the wine, David!
