tastefully decorated 2 bedroom beach cottage that sleeps up to 8 people.
Bigger group? We also have The Loft Studio, a private annex behind the main house, that sleeps an additional 3 people. The House & Loft' sleeps 8 + 3.

The space
The Cottage comfortably sleeps up to 8 people max.
Main bedroom downstairs with double bed and writing desk. Upstairs in the loft you will find a 2nd private bedroomwith 1 double bed and 1 single bed. Also in the open loft is a separate sitting area overlooking the sea, perfect for reading a book or playing a game of cards, as well as additional dorm-style accommodation consisting of 3 single beds.
All bedding is provided.
The house has 3 bathrooms.
2 Downstairs: One with a bath basin and toilet and a bathroom with shower, toilet and basin
Upstairs: Bathroom with toilet and basin.
Open-plan lounge, dining room & kitchen.
The lounge is comfortably furnished, incl. Full satellite TV (DSTV - no need to bring your own card), DVD Player, Radio/CD player.
The dining room table sits 6-8 guests. Lovely sea views throughout the ground floor.
Fully equipped kitchen includes cutlery & crockery for 8 persons, fridge/freezer, microwave oven, coffee machine, stove, oven & dishwasher.
Sea-facing patio with wooden table, 6 chairs & umbrella to use.
Cosy built-in barbecue area behind the main house. Facilities include a patio area with picnic bench, built-in BBQ & seating, plus lovely mountain views.
Laundry area with washing machine, tumble dryer, ironing facilities and vacuum cleaner.

Guest access
Guest will have access to the whole house, private use of the barbecue area, front patio and garden.

Parking is available in the shared driveway.

There is a beautiful 4km coastal pathway in front of the house, known as the Vermont Trail. Lavender Cottage is situated roughly in its middle. Walking on the trail, you'll pass milkwoods, tidal pools and quiet beaches, and might spot a few whales along the way.

Other things to note
Children are very welcome. We do supply a travel cot on request but please note that cot linen is not provided.
Please bring your own beach towels.

Cape Town is just over an hours drive. Ideal for day trips to Stellenbosch winelands.

Vermont borders Onrus River and is sandwiched between Hawston and Sandbaai, offering magnificent ocean views and a majestic mountain backdrop. The area offers peace and tranquillity away from the busy Hermanus town centre; endemic fynbos and bird life await you in this scenic holiday village. Other highlights include the Vermont Trail, a beautiful coastal path, Breakfast Bay as well as The Vermont Salt Pan which is always teeming with indigenous bird-life. Onrus is a small residential area that can be found at the edge of Hermanus, after Zwelihle. It's quaint yet modern homes and restaurants make it a beautiful place to stay or visit. Onrus is also famous for its stunning beach and lagoon, where you can enjoy the sun, sea and a restaurant experience whilst overlooking the shoreline.
