  • Kit's place is wonderful. A great location in Christchurch close to good restaurants and sights to see. And the living quarters are very comfortable, clean, and with everything we needed. A perfect stay in Christchurch

  • First rate accommodations in Christchurch. Peaceful and restful location. Arty funky yet tranquil decor. Beautiful bedroom, perfect bathroom and thoughtful touches in the kitchenette - including enough appliances to sort out a gourmet meal even without a regular stove! The bed is one of the comfiest I have slept in as a traveler and the peace and quiet of Kit's home, garden and neighborhood are very restorative! Kit is a lovely human being and a charming and helpful hostess! Stay with her - you will not regret it! Just don't book any dates that I would want!

  • We LOVED Kits place so much that we didn't want to leave. The whole unit is comfortable and super homely, it has everything you can need. Kit was a great host, she made us feel so welcome and gave us lots of info on things to see and do in the area. Highly recommended!

  • I suppose this is meant to be a review of both the host and the accommodation, so I will split my review.

The Host: Kit was fantastically warm and exactly the kind of person you want to greet you after a plane ride from abroad. She was very attentive to our needs (on a hot day she dropped off a fan, she went to pick up a basin so we could wash our baby after we realised we had forgotten one, etc.) and very considerate of our space and needs as guests staying with a baby. She was always up-beat and quick to offer advice and ideas for outings in Christchurch and surrounds.

The Studio:We stayed with Kit for 4 weeks while I did some training downtown, and the space and the location were perfect for our needs. Kit's house is very well situated to several bus routes that I used to commute on rainy days when I didn't walk into the downtown and these buses went into Central Station allowing you to go anywhere in the city on the bus. Before we booked, we had debated staying in the dead centre of town. The downtown was affected by the earthquakes, however, so in the end we think staying in a charming and well-serviced suburb like St. Martin's that was (to our eyes) not heavily damaged was a better choice.

We chose Kit's studio because of the overwhelmingly positive reviews she had received and the privacy of a self-contained accommodation. In the end, we were very happy we chose to stay with Kit and would recommend staying with Kit to anyone visiting Christchurch.

  • Kit's studio oasis was quite a treat. It was clean, comfortable, and the mattress was just like home. The bathroom was spacious and the kitchenette provided us a with a place to prepare breakfast. Best of all was the privacy and solitude of the place.

Kit was charming, polite, and available to answer our questions. If I return to Christchurch, I would try to stay there again. Two thumbs up!
