The building is impeccable. Eastern-facing windows deliver the best sunrise in New York. There's an S&F queen bed (if you don't know, look it up) and two air beds. Many sources call this Brooklyn neighborhood the hottest and most diverse in America.
This space is super clean. It's spotless, bright and lovely. Also, it's almost ridiculously quite. The temperature can be adjusted to a minute level. There is a grass lawn and playground and seating in the courtyard too, also spotless. (Also, the apartment's electricity is produced from renewable resources, mostly wind, in upstate New York.)
You will have access to my studio, a washer/dryer laundry room, a bicycle room and an outdoor area with playground, grass lawn and patio area.
I won't be staying at the apartment, but I will be a phone call away if you have any troubles.
The place is located on the 11th floor an elevator-equipped highrise building on the corner of Clermont Ave. and Flushing. It's two blocks from Myrtle Ave. which is known for its restaurants and bars. Any fare is available from great coffee at the Red Lantern to soul food at Maggie Brown's to red velvet waffles at Soco. There are also many banks, grocery stores and deli's on this street.
Two blocks beyond Myrtle is DeKalb Ave. with a new crop of restaurants and bars and a Flea Market on Saturdays. Bridging these streets is the lovely Ft. Greene park which has a Farmer's Market on Saturdays as well.
10 blocks beyond this is the new Barclay's Arena and Atlantic Center. The Brooklyn Academy of Music is nearby and has many dance and theater shows.
Also, across the street in the Navy Yard there is a new Naval museum called Building 52. Most tourists and visitors don't get a chance to visit this.
There are several buses right outside the building which go to Williamsburg, queens or the city. There is also parking almost always right outside, or a block away, under the BQE. It's not very close to the subway system though. It's a 12 minute walk to the G train and a 15 minute walk to the B or Q train.

Luke is very kind and helpful, answered all my 1000 questions about the apartment. Apartment is new, and building is very quiet and modern. Thank you, man!
We stayed 2 weeks in Luke's studio and really enjoyed it! It was perfect to relax after a day of visiting and walking around in Manhattan or Brooklyn.
The only downside is the distance between the subway and the building (a good 20 minutes walk and the buses were scarce..). But otherwise it was great!
Although the area is not very good (dark and difficult to find a taxi), the building and the apartment itself are new and nice. Luke provided several books, including some about NYC. Overall it was good.
My stay at Luke's place was one of the greatest I've had so far with AirBnB. I had a late flight from Miami which arrived at 1am and Luke met me at Penn Station to hand me the keys. Luke's apartment was immaculate and I've never slept more soundly. Next time I visit NYC I would stay at Luke's again if he would welcome me back. This is host and space are WInners!
Luke's place was awesome! Super comfy bed and beautiful view. He was an incredibly accommodating and generous host. Definitely recommended!
Luke was a great host! Communication was thorough, courteous, and timely. The studio was in great condition, including WiFi, restaurant menus, an extra air mattress and sheets, and towels.
Great place, great host!!
Nice, sunny and modern appartment inkluding kitchen and good bathroom. Very quiet with great view over Brooklyn. I recommend this flat for one or two people if you want to discover New York by bicycle: 3 Citibike stations are very close and you can reach Manhattan within 15 minutes with a great ride over one of the bridges. Car parking is also possible and bus station is also very close. Subway 15 or 20 minutes walking. I will never stay at New Yorks overpriced hotels again!!!
My wife and I stayed at Luke's for 3 nights at the end of our New York trip. Pre-trip: Luke was really easy to communicate with, and even though he was travelling in the days leading up to our stay, he really went out of his way to make sure that we checked in just fine. The place itself is a studio in a brand new apartment building so everything's nice and clean, with comfortable linens and sheets. Basically, the apartment had everything we needed for a very comfortable stay. One big drawback though is that it is quite far from the nearest subway, in a part of Brooklyn that I would probably describe as 'business/commercial?' Great value though otherwise.
Luke’s place was perfect for our trip from Seattle to NYC. We felt safe walking around the neighborhood and enjoyed the shops only two blocks away. The apartment was just as advertised, spacious and clean for an affordable price. The free wifi was an extra bonus. The bus stops right outside the building and is a cheap cab ride to most places if you miss the bus. We’d recommend Luke’s place to anyone needing a place to stay?
