Barcelona is the fourth most visited city in Europe and 11th in the world, and is considered one of the best cities in Europe in terms of quality of life.
There are four administrative districts (some include antique or traditional neighborhoods):
The Gotic Quarter
Sant Pere, Santa Caterina i la Ribera:
Running down the center of the Ciutat Vella (dividing the Raval and the Gothic Quarter) is the boulevard of La Rambla. La Rambla stretches from Plaça Catalunya to the Mediterranean Sea and, since the 1990s, now extends over the sea one of the newest entertainment centers of Barcelona, Maremagnum. The Mercat de Sant Josep (more commonly known as La Boqueria) and the Gran Teatre del Liceu (Opera House) are located here. La Rambla is one of the busiest streets frequently by pedestrians in Barcelona.
At the bottom is the Maritime Museum (Museo Naval), which tells the story of life in the Mediterranean, including a scale model of a galley.
It is the center of the old city of Barcelona. It extends from the Rambla to the Via Laietana, and from the sea front to the Ronda de Sant Pere.
Despite several changes undergone in the ages 20 and 19, many of the buildings date from the Middle Ages, some from as far as the Roman settlement of Barcelona.
The Barri Gotic retains a labyrinthine street plan, with many small streets leading into squares. Most of the area is closed to regular traffic although open to service vehicles and taxis.
Points of interest in the city:
Cathedral of Santa Eulalia
Basilica of the Mercè
Church of Santa Maria del Pi
Church of Sant Miquel
Remains of the Temple of Augustus
Els Quatre Gats
Santa Maria del Mar
Rambla del Raval
Parque de la Ciutadella.
It is a place with lots of good vibes ... Come and see for yourself :)
See you soon!!!

Great place. Highly recommendable.
Thank you for the nice flat, quick responses and support.
I spent a very nice time in Gianlucas apartment with my family (4 people total). Gianluca was always friendly, helpful and timely with his responses prior to arriving which was great. We found the apartment smaller than it seemed from the pics and felt a bit crammed to be living 4 adults in this space. We liked the apartment although it felt a bit impersonal with ikea plastic chairs and not too many kitchen tools. It was to be in the centre of all the action, but a little too noisy for my parents who - even with ear plugs and normally good sleepers, gave up a couple of night's sleep to the festive actions in the street downstairs. I slept in the smaller room facing one of the side streets and slept wonderfully all of the 7 nights. All in all a nice apartment in one of the most bustling streets in Barcelona - perhaps more suited for younger renters than older. Thank you Gianluca!
Super appart en plein cœur de (website hidden)ès pratique pour découvrir la ville sur un week end.
Hôte très sympathique !
Luca was a wonderful host and the apartment was located in a perfect spot down a very convenient street, well furnished and very comfortable, slept real well as the beds were very comfy. We are heading back to Barcelona on our return and will be staying at his place again....top choice. Thanks Luca for your hospitality.
Very nice and centric flat, at 5 min walking distance from placa catalunya and las ramblas !! Near the metro station and the bus for the airport !!
The little drawback is that the street is little bit noisy, so better young people.
The apartment was well-situated, very clean, and comfortable. My friends and I had an excellent time and I would love to come back! Luca was an attentive host and I was very happy with our stay. The apartment is a short walk from La Rambla, public transit, and several other major attractions. It is an excellent place to stay and is near several good restaurants. I recommend this apartment highly.
We stayed in Barcelona in Oct '13 for a week. Luca responded promptly every time and always made himself available for us. The apartment is in a fantastic location and we had the chance to walk everywhere from here, plus there are little grocers all over this street for those cooking at home. Luca was on hand when the wifi went down and sorted it out very quickly. The beds are comfortable and the place was spacious enough for the three of us. We never really used the kitchen except for making drinks but it was well equipped. Will definitely stay again, we had an amazing time and great experience with Luca! Highly Recommend!
I´m glad you guys enjoyed Barcelona and the apartment! It has been a pleasure having you home! I finally have changed the internet because it was giving me some problems!! So now we have a new ADSL which is really fast and works promptly!! Perhaps you can enjoy it next time!!! ;) Have a wonderfull life!!!Luca.
