  • We loved our stay in Lucca. Once we got up the stairs with our suitcases which is challenging (especially the last 10 which are steeper) we found ourselves in a beautiful and charming apartment, with lovely details and attention to small things everywhere. We felt at home and very comfortable. While Alessia was unable to meet us, her colleague, Cristina was very helpful and Alessia was very responsivie via email and phone.
There were three of us and we comfortably each had our own sleeping area (the third one being a comfortable sofa bed). The linen was a lovely quality and we had plenty of towels. The kitchen is small but still with all you need to prepare food and meals. I do agree with an earlier post that having a few more utensils would have made things a little easier but this is a small matter.
We did have some problems with the internet - sometimes the signal was weak unless you were right near the modem and access intermittent. Otherwise we had a perfect stay in Lucca, with the apartment in a great location and a bus that can take you to and from the train station.
Overall - an adorable apartment and a wonderful experience in Lucca. Thank you Alessia!

  • Studio apartment clean and as described, except wifi was not available; excellent view of the wall; easy to find; great location for day excursions to Pisa and Cinque Terre. Paid parking was close but could be a challenge depending on day and/or time; professional, helpful and friendly staff. Would not hesitate to strongly recommend....

  • This was a great place for us to stay while exploring Lucca and Tuscany. Alessia was always there if we had a question or needed anything. For example, when our wifi modem mysteriously stopped working, she was there in 15 minutes with a replacement. Definitely a dedicated host, which we appreciated as we felt very welcome and in good hands.
We were also provided with a nice baby cot for our 7-month-old son, and a nice high chair so he could enjoy meal times with us as we often cooked our own meals in the flat. All the staples are there, including Italian coffee :) Although the flat is small, we had a great set-up and felt comfortable for the two weeks we stayed there.
The location is amazing for exploring the old Roman city of Lucca; really central and all the major sites are walkable from the front door. One thing that proved difficult for us, however, was parking. As the old city is not really set up for cars, being so old, there is no access for non-resident vehicles within the city walls where the flat is. And it's really tight and narrow driving through, so I wouldn't recommend visiting the city with a car. We managed ok, as Alessia guided us to an area outside the city walls with free parking, and this was only a 10-15 minute walk for us (with a baby), so it was great as we also made a few trips to Florence and Chianti, which is why we brought our car. The main train station is also not a far walk from the flat (about 20 min for us), so if you stay here without a car, day trips are totally doable.
I only mention this drawback as a warning to other car travelers, and not as a negative about Alessia or this lovely flat. We had a great time and definitely recommend this place and Alessia herself as a host. Thanks again, and greetings to Alessia and family :)

  • The apartment was very nice and clean. Alessia is a very professional host and friendly person. She welcomed us warmly and gave us the impression that we could always ask her, if we needed anything. The kitchen was well equipped and had everything one could need - including a dish washer. We would definitely recommend staying there!

  • We loved Alessia’s apartment and the location, a short walk from the train station just inside the walls and close to the centre of town. Alessia was very friendly & helpful, and provided a folder with places to eat and other useful information. Separate bedroom with comfortable double bed, and best of all when on holiday, a dishwasher!
