Maureen was a great host - I honestly don't know how she could have been more accomodating. I had a bit of a hectic schedule during my stay, and she went over and beyond to make my first Airbnb experience a great one. She offered to pick me up from the airport at 2am when I got stranded due to a late flight, and always had a coffee in hand when I was running out the door each morning. On top of the that, the neighborhood is a quaint brick-lined street, and the top-floor suite where I stayed was rather spacious and private. It's clear that Maureen genuinely enjoys hosting and meeting travelers. I would certainly recommend her place to others.
Maureen and her place were great! We were only at her place for one short night, but the apartment and breakfast (and coffee) suited us perfectly. She was a delightful host. We'd definitely stay there again, and try to do so for more than just one night next time!
Location, location, location. We really loved the neighborhood Maureen's home is in. A short walk in either of two directions leads to a series of shops and restaurants, as well as connections with public transportation. Maureen was very friendly and accommodating. Because several of the days we stayed were quite hot, having a room in the attic was somewhat uncomfortable. The bedroom itself was air conditioned, but we had to keep the door closed to keep out the heat of the hall and bathroom.
I had an absolutely wonderful experience with Maureen. She is very kind and accommodating, and she works hard to turn her house into a home for her visitors. I would definitely recommend staying with Maureen during any travels to the Pittsburgh area.
Maureen greeted us with a very warm and genuine welcome. I felt as if I were at home right from the beginning. The room we stayed in is on the third floor, and although the Pittsburgh weather was very hot the days we were there, the room remained comfortable the whole time. We enjoyed having our own bathroom and comfortable bed. We also enjoyed Maureen's great breakfasts and conversation. We had a lot in common and we laughed a lot. The location of her home is great with easy access to downtown Pittsburgh and in walking distance (2 blocks) of good restaurants. We are looking forward to visiting Maureen again!
We arrived as Airbnb customers and left as friends. No wonder Maureen is a Superhost! She is a warm and kind person and made us feel welcome in every way. We were lucky to have had time in the evenings to chat and get to know each other. Before arrival, she answered all of our questions very quickly. Upon arrival, she helped us make the most of our time in Pittsburgh by suggesting sights and routes. And she was a pleasure throughout.
Maureen's home is a beautiful house in a great neighborhood, with shops and restaurants in easy walking distance. The street is red brick and the homes on her block have beautiful details like turrets, tile or slate roofs and Tudor windows. Our room was very private, it is the entire 3rd floor with its own bath. The bed was very comfortable and the sheets were amazing. I need to find out how to get some for myself.
Maureen includes breakfast, which is a great touch. We don't eat meat and try to eat healthy and the breakfasts were perfect for us! Everything fresh and homemade!
We will definitely return.
Maureen met us at the door with a smile and wonderful hospitality. She knows the area and the city well. Her recommendations were spot on. The house was as described. It is a charming location in a great neighborhood with good access to the city. All the accommodations were clean and inviting. The bed was very comfortable. The parking was not a problem as she was very flexible regarding our schedule. Great experience!

About the Host, Maureen
I am an outgoing and optimistic individual. I have a masters degree in Oboe Performance from Rice University. I am no longer playing professionally but music still fills my soul and I frequent many of the performances of live music Pittsburgh has to offer, especially jazz and The Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra. I enjoy a good glass of wine while to listening to jazz and conversation at the local coffee shop.
I am from a large family and have 2 wonderful adult children.
After being a lifelong photo buff, I started my own business - Maureen Patrice Photography. My work is mainly people and events and i also carry a line of Pittsburgh and nature photo note cards and prints.
I have traveled a fair amount - Ireland, British Isles, Germany, Italy, Canada, Mexico, and throughout much of the United States. My favorite trip was my most recent to Tanzania were I went on Safari to Ngorongoro Crater and the Serengeti. The trip was amazing, the people were wonderful, and I saw so many animals.
I love to cook and am happy to accommodate special dietary needs.
I try to live my life treating others as I would like to be treated. I am thrilled to be on airbnb and I look forward to meeting new people.
