Our host (Guido) and his aunt (Simonetta) were welcoming and beyond helpful during our stay. We made reservations last minute and Guido indicated that he did not have availability for the three nights we wanted to stay. However, he communicated quickly with us and told us that if we could switch rooms on the third night, then he could accommodate us. We agreed and are so glad we did. After a long and interesting day of travel, we finally arrived around 9:30PM and were greeted by Guido. He showed us our room in the Affittacamere Maria Gabriella B&B (property just outside the gates of Monticchiello and also listed on Airbnb.com) and identified where breakfast was served and where we could park. The room we stayed in was pictured on Airbnb: just off of a common area, it had a small entry space with a twin bed and a rack for hanging clothes, then a doorway into the main room with a king size bed. The room was equipped with a portable AC. The walls were thick and we never heard any of the other guests while we were in the room. Breakfast was in the small garden next to the B&B and consisted of some very good cakes and pastries, toast and assorted jams, blood orange juice and coffee made to order. An expanded breakfast menu was available for a very reasonable cost; however, we did not choose to do so. Guido spoke English well and was able to give us lots of good information about the area. We were allowed to use their washer to wash clothes and a clothesline for drying. For our third night, we moved to the La Lanciotta (a 3 minute walk from our first room). The room was exactly as pictured online and was right in the middle of the ancient town. This room had two twin beds pushed together to make a king size bed. Breakfast for this accommodation was at the main B&B and on our third morning was served inside a large dining area just off the garden (due to the wind). Guido allowed us to park in the same location when we moved rooms (however, if those spaces are filled, there is a public lot about 200m away near the main B&B where you can park for free). Monticchiello turned out to be the perfect headquarters for our Tuscany stay. Located near both Pienza and Montepulciano as well as a number of other cities that we will have to visit during our next trip. The few restaurants in the town are reasonable and perfect if you just wanted to stay close for a day or two (make sure to make reservation on the porch of Osteria La Porta for sunset).

We had a wonderful stay at La Lanciotta! Our hosts were very accommodating, kind, and made sure we had everything we needed with a big smile. From the soaps and detailed interior decorations, La Lanciotta is a lovely place to stay in Monticchiello. The room was clean, relaxing, and the shower was great! We loved the location as it was central to shops, restaurants and the town's church. Thank you!

We were in the heart of quaint Monticchiello, just steps from our favorite restaurant. The beds and linens were very comfortable. The shower bigger than some "European " sized showers. While there was not a mini fridge on the property our host was very accommodating in chilling a bottle of Prosecco for us. Check in and out was simple as could be. Guido, the owner, and Simonetta, his aunt, were most accomodating. Room is on ground floor and had excellent WIFI. Breakfast is served in the main house B&B, a short walk away. You can request either egg&bacon or full Tuscan breakfast for a modest fee. We found the breakfast of coffee/tea, warm bread served with jams /butter, morning cakes and yogurt quite satisfying. More than comfortable.

Our stay at Guido's place has been great and Monticchiello is absolutely amazing, plus a good point where to start exploring the rest of Val d'Orcia! Guido and his aunt were very friendly and helpful, the room very clean and as beautiful as in the pictures. There is also a private parking not too far from the building, but there is not enough space for all the guests' cars (so double check if you need it). Despite the air conditioning wasn't working properly, it's definitely a place we would recommend!

My mother Maria Gabriella was Tuscan of adoption.
He fell in love with this land forty years ago. It was love at first sight and how can you not fall in love with these wonderful places full of art and surrounded by breathtaking nature (and for the good food).
This beautiful house used as a B&B that I manage with the invaluable help of my aunt Simonetta I was left by my mother that I also inherited good manners care of furnishing and above all welcoming guests to whom she cared a lot.
Our facility has always been open to guests that we take care of the smallest detail.
Do not hesitate to ask us about these places and assistance for food and wine destinations also.
