We stayed at Angela & Patrick's fabulous vintage country house just for 1 night , and the made us feel like as part of family. This lovely couple were being so kind to us, we share the thoughts on various things from travelling to culture , endless topics can go on and on. Angela , the beautiful and elegant lady; we will miss you and Patrick a lot. From your three adopted daughter ;) p.s food was greatly presented and my favourite dish would be the blueberry crumble + ice cream ! :D
AWESOME hosts! All round charm and definitely entertaining! I enjoyed my stay, most definitely!
"I'll be back before you know it Angela!".
Angela & Patrick are such lovely people (my other set of parents- yes you may adopt me if you so wish), I certainly didn't feel away from home! Their house is amazing! And my new favourite insight is the use of an electric blanket (a new love)!
I certainly recommend an evening of listening to music with Angela & Patrick.
Such cool company! :)
Angela and Patrick are superb hosts with a lovely house. I stayed whilst on business for 4 nights and it was like staying with good friends. Angela’s dinners are gorgeous and highly recommended.
I’ve passed on the details of Steetley House to our HQ in Worksop as it’s infinitely better than the bland and lonely existence in a hotel usually experienced by business travellers.
So if you’re in the area on business or pleasure or just passing through (10 minutes off M1), you won’t find anywhere better to stay than with Angela and Patrick.
Angela and Patrick gave a very warm welcome to their lovely family home. We only had a one night stay so the location was excellent for visits to Chatsworth House, Welbeck Estate (School of Artisan Food) and Clumber Park. As hosts, they could not have been more generous – offering tea when we arrived, inviting us to sit by their fire after our meal out and even de-frosting the car after a wintry night. A nice place to stay if exploring Nottingham and Derbyshire in a family home setting.
If anyone is looking for a perfect English country house experience and great hospitality, then please do not look any further! The house is absolutely stunning and very comfortable. I stayed there with my family from India and we felt like home - it was tough to come back. I recommend staying at theirs and having the awesome dinner made by Angela. We had an absolutely wonderful time with Angela and Patrick - thank you both :)
We, a party of 5 with little Claudia, spend 5 days at Angela´s house. And we all can tell, we felt like royalty. The house is marvelous, and they were just the best hosts ever. We all remember our stay in Nottingham as one of the best places we've ever been. And I promise to come back!
When my aunt and I booked this stay for our trip to do genealogy nearby, we thought it would be nice to stay in a nice country house. The pictures do not do it justice. An absolutely gorgeous home, enormous and breathtaking at every turn. If you wanted the peace of the quiet of the rural setting and posh surroundings, this is just the ticket.
It was a houseful the night we stayed and that just made it more fun for all of us. Great dinner served by Angela, she is a fabulous cook and if she invites you for dinner, just go for it. I doubt you could better at a Michelin star restaurant.
Our hosts were lovely and helpful, they made sure we were comfortable and relaxed. I will definitely visit again when I return to the Nottinghamshire area. I'm madly in love with them and their amazing home.
Trust me, I do not have enough words to express my sincere gratitude for everything done to help make my very short stay not only fantastic, but memorable as well.
The pictures of their home is exactly as dipicted - a true countryside retreat in the heart of England that is only a short trainride away. A place to relax and completely unwind leaving the stress of the city behind.
Both Patrick and Angela are fabulous hosts with the utmost attention to detail in every part of my stay. And they both are terrific cooks. I hope to see them again when I return to Retford.
My wife and I had an absolutely fantastic time staying with Angela and her husband. They made us feel like old friends that they had not seen for some time. I have never felt so welcomed and comfortably at ease with someone I have just met. They were the nicest people I have met and I will always remember and cherish our experience staying with them, if our travel plans had been a little more flexible we would have changed them to stay another day or two. Their house is absolutely devine and pictures on the web site do not do it justice and they were kind enough to give us a tour and history of the house. Breakfast was beautifully prepared and served gracefully by Angela. I have left the best for last, Angela offered to cook dinner on our arrival as there is no restaurant near bye and if there was it would quickly go out of business as word of Angela's cooking spread. She prepared the most beautiful meal of duck with plum sauce that I have ever had, I mean by this 5 star restaurant and then some. The best bnb in England in my opinion, a beautiful big room, great value and hosts that you will never forget.
I had a wonderfull stay at Patrick and Angela's house during a 3 day conference in Nottingham. It felt like returning back home after each day of work :) Had dinner twice with them: Angela absolutely does a magic job in her kitchen, it was just superb!
The house is a 10 minute drive from the M1 and is very comfortable. Treat yourself with a stay here!
