Treat it as your own, loves pets but they have to stay at home. Please no smoking in the apartment!
We had a fabulous stay in Dan's apartment. The area was perfect for walking to most places and the subway is nearby for the rest. Lots of great food all around. Dan is very friendly and more than happy to advise to help you find your way around. We instantly felt at home in the apartment and the neighbourhood. The apartment building itself is very quiet and neighbours are friendly. The area is quite noisy particularly on weekends however it is New York. Would definitely stay again.
Dan was an awesome host! He met us when we arrived and let us know what to see/where to eat while we were here (totto ramen - do it!!!). He was always a phone call away to answer any question which was amazingly helpful. The apartment was exactly as pictured (actually suprisingly spacious) and everything we wanted was a 10 minute walk away - Central Park, Times Square, the subway, shake shack :P we'll definitely be back as soon as we can afford another trip! Thank you Dan!
Dan was fantastic. He worked with us to get us the key in a way that was more convenient for us. He called in advance to see if there was anything extra he could do for us. We HIGHLY recommend Dan and any of his properties for any of your trips.
Decent apartment. Unfortunately you can hear street outside even though bedroom is further back in apartment. Picking up the keys in what amounts to about a mile away is less than ideal.
We stayed in Dan's apartment for over a week during New Years. The apartment was exactly how it was shown in the photos, very neat and tidy and had everything you needed like a hotel room. There were 3 of us and enough beds for each, it was cosy but we made it work. You are never really inside your apartment much in NYC anyway. The building and apartment was kept very warm especially during the freezing weather we encountered, so was nice to go back to a warm apartment. The building was secure and in a lovely street. The area was fantastic, so many wonderful restaurants, great little bars and the people were so friendly. Few blocks to Times Square and a short walk to Central Park. Anywhere else was easy to get around on the subway. Dan was very helpful and gave us many suggestions for restaurants etc. He checked in with me a few times during our stay. Overall, we were very pleased with with apartment and would be happy to stay again.
Dan was always accessible and helpful. There were a few non-perishable groceries already there such as coffee, tea, salt and pepper, which was really helpful. Dan's suggestions of things to do and see or local restaurants were great. Also lots of clean towels and pillows. What we didn't like probably reflects unrealistic expectations of old apartment buildings in NY generally - too much street noise, excessive heat in winter and a poorly flushing toilet.
