About this listing
This is most probably the best spot in Soho. You are in the middle of everything: steps from eclectic Chinatown and Nolita with small boutiques and restaurants. At the same time you are in Soho with high end stores and all entertainment you need. The apartment is located on Kenmare Square with the hippest bars and restaurants. There is a small park in front of the building. The apartment has two bedrooms and one bathroom. To get to the bathroom you need to go through one of the bedrooms - please consider this. The apartment has a fully equipped kitchen and a nice living room. Wireless Internet, Aircondition etc.. There is original art from my gallery on the walls. The apartment is in a old building and by no means like a 5 Start Hotel, it is a nice old NY apartment and we do love it. It is lived in and therefore definitely not perfect. The apartment is a walkup - there is no elevator in the building. If you stay at our apartment you will get the best of Downtown NY. Also you are 1/2 block from the green 6 subway on Spring Street. Starbucks is also 1/2 block so fresh coffee is no problem.
Very Important: I mentioned this before in the description. This is not a newly renovated apartment. It is by no means perfect. Please do not expect a Hotel experience. This is a private apartment with all it downs and ups. If you want a perfect place this is not for you. I do want to manage expectations. I say that because I had lately 2 guests who were not happy with the condition of the apartment. Personally I don't think their criticism was fair since I very clearly describe the apartment - however if you come to NY I want you to have a great experience in our apartment and not to be frustrated.
Of course I change frequently things which needed changing (new pillows, new chairs, new coffee pot etc.) but I can not transfer it to a new apartment with all new furniture.
Soho is probably one of the best shopping areas in the world with a beautiful and authentic architecture. At the same time you are steps from more eclectic neighborhoods like Lower Eats Side and China Town. From the location you can basically walk anywhere in Downtown.
All major Subways are close - the green line is 20 seconds from the apt.
All we ask treat it like your own. No parties without checking with us before - of course you can have dinner parties. We do have valuable original artwork on the wall as well as some designer furniture please respect it. Garbage has to be put out in black bags Mondays, Wednesday and Fridays in front of building after 6 pm.
I am German but at the same time a New Yorker after living more then 10 years here. I am married with Kathie and we have two small daughters - which keep us busy. I do own Pablo's Birthday Gallery (Gallery for Contemporary Art) in NYC which is in my opinion the most exciting city in the world.
