* * * Instead of a booking request, please send me a message (inquiry) and tell me a little bit about yourself. I'm also happy to answer any questions. I look forward to hearing from you! Best, Tim

Situated in a modern two-bedroom apartment (shared with me), your private room is furnished with brand-new amenities, including an ultra-comfortable queen-size memory foam mattress with new sheets, soft towels and a 26" flat screen TV.

The apartment has a south-facing window with lots of light and a blackout shade. It overlooks a lively corner, and can sometimes be a little loud on the weekends - but this is pretty typical for the central neighborhoods. You will have access to the roof and its fantastic view of the Freedom Tower, the Chrysler Building and more. The room has its own air conditioning during the summer and its own heater during winter.

Guest Access

My goal is for you to feel at home while you are staying here. Guests have access to the living room, clean bathroom, the kitchen and everything else - please enjoy.. Make yourselves at home!

Interaction with Guests

I enjoy meeting and interacting with guests. I'm more than happy to chat, give advice or offer suggestions on what to do in the city. Of course this is your vacation, and I will also give you the privacy you need to recover from your days exploring the city.

The Neighborhood

One of the New York City’s liveliest and trendiest neighborhoods, the Lower East Side offers countless restaurants, shops, bars, nightclubs, art galleries and performance venues for you to enjoy. (Pianos, Spitzer's, Schiller's, Beauty and Essex, Arlene's Grocery, The Box and GalleryBar are just a few nightlife examples). The neighborhood is dynamic, safe and has a lot to offer historically - in the past it served as home to so many of the city's immigrants that it even has its own museum (The Tenement Museum).

Staying in the Lower East Side is easy, with food, other supplies and laundry readily available and close by. There is a laundromat less than one block from the apartment where you can wash or have your clothing washed, and a grocery store in the very building next door. Also the subway is about a minute away, and there are many lines.

When you are ready to explore further, you can check out other stylish neighborhoods nearby, including SOHO, Greenwich Village, the East Village, NOHO and more.

Getting Around

Public transportation here is excellent, offering quick access to most parts of NYC. The apartment is about 1 minute by foot to the F, M, J and Z subway lines, also 1 minute by foot to the East Village, and 10-15 minutes by foot to SOHO, Greenwich Village, Nolita, Little Italy and Chinatown. Buses and cabs are also readily available nearby.

Transportation from JFK Airport

Coming from JFK airport takes 30-50 minutes by cab (about 60$) and about an hour and 15 minutes via Subway (about $8.00 per person). For the subway simply take the Airtrain to Jamaica Station, then transfer to the J Train and take it to Essex street station. The apartment is 2 blocks away (a 1-2 minute walk).

Transportation from Newark Airport

Newark Airport also has an Airtrain that will take you to a New Jersey Transit Station. From there you can take the train to New York Penn Station (don’t get off at New Jersey Penn station). Then the apartment is a $15 cab ride away or a 20 minute subway ride. For the subway just walk east 2 blocks east to 6th avenue and take the F train to Delancey Street. The apartment is is 2 blocks away (a 1-2 minute walk).

Other Things to Note

Your room comes with a hairdryer, iron and ironing board, a full-length mirror and ultra-fast wifi - any other accommodations you need please let me know!
