The Space

Thanks for checking out "The Dandelion"!
your stay includes delicious breakfasts prepared by a previous B&B Innkeeper/Chef/Baker/Food Stylist (Taryn)

Clean linens and towels will be in your private suite as well as fresh flowers and homemade cookies. (fresh baked daily of course!)

The bathroom has many drawers for storing your items for easy access. Also there are suitcase racks in the suite to rest your bags on and an empty closet as well stocked with wooden hangers so no need to bring your own.

There is a cabinet in the bathroom with a green glass handle that has several lotions, sunscreen, shampoo, etc for you to use if needed.

My location is in the Historic Evergreen district in Midtown and is five minutes from downtown Memphis and within walking distance to The Levitt Shell, Overton Park , Brooks Art Museum the Cooper- Young area and Overton Square.

This is a great area! Especially in the Spring/Fall/Summer months. Overton Park is so green and lush most of the time.
Some of the best concerts are at the Levitt Shell in the park and most of them are free! (ask me about this during check-in) I offer folding chairs if it's a concert season. I have seen North Missisippi Allstars there, Norah Jones, Mavis Staples, Todd Snider, and more. This is truly a magical venue! I hope concerts will be available during your stay. I can recommend other music venues as well. Anything from hipster hangs, dive-bars or juke joints. Of course weekends will offer a much better selection. There are other walkable music venues such as The Hi-Tone and Stonewall Hall nearby and some local eateries, a great gift shop and also a yoga center.

breakfast-
If you're vegan just give advance notice so almond or walnut milk can be made prior to your stay or if you would rather just have fresh vegetable juice or smoothies made in the vitamix. Typically my breakfasts are on the decadent side. Most people splurge while on holiday but they can also be on the healthier side if need be.
Feel free to stretch out, put your feet up, grab a book, wrap up with a warm throw in the living room or library. It makes me happy to see my guests feeling comfy here. That's what makes airbnb stand out from hotels right? If there are no other guests staying downstairs, the flat screen tv with internet and Netflix is available in the den at the end of the hall. (though this room is super casual, there may even be a vacuum cleaner in the corner, seriously very comfy though)

driving-
There is a navigation system that you can use during your stay to make it easier for you to get to your destinations.
Getting lost is a bummer, so feel free to hook it up
on your daily adventures.

Having been in the hospitality industry for several years I sort of know when to be available or to let people people be on their own program.

laundry- don't be shy about asking where the washer and dryer are. They are quick and efficient and there is always detergent as well.

Send a message if you have any questions or concerns.
Hope to see you in Memphis!! ^@^

Oops. forgot to mention, if you're without wheels you can take "Memphis Hop". While the trolley is great, it's limited to where it will take you. This service takes you to all major attractions and gives you discounts at Stax, Graceland, etc. kind of a win-win. You can access "hop-on" just down the street at Overton Park.

  • Taryn is a wonderful host. We were very pleasantly surprised how lovely the entire experience was. This was our first experience in staying at a B&B, certainly not our last. Taryn was such a delight. She was dependable, knowledgable beyond belief about the city and of course all of the wonderful restaurants and music available to enjoy. Taryn"s breakfast and cookies were spectacular!!! What a wonderful treat to come home to each day. The Dandelion is a beautiful and very inviting home that makes you feel warm and very comfortable. We will return. Thanks Taryn, Phil and Joanne

  • Our review just confirms all of the wonderful reviews about Taryn and her lovely home. She welcomed us with open arms and it felt like coming home except she did all of the work. Her home is so warm and comforting with candles, fresh flowers, yummy homemade cookies and exceptional breakfast with all of the extra touches. She is so interesting to talk to and we felt like we had made a new friend by the time we left. She has lots of recommendations for restaurants and places to see. We want to go back to Memphis just to stay with Taryn.

  • We absolutely LOVED our stay with Taryn in Memphis! We felt immediately at home in our suite, and even caught ourselves calling it "home" when we were out and about! Taryn is the best host you could hope for; personable, thoughtful, and helpful. We especially loved her homemade cookies, delicious breakfasts, and dinner recommendation! If you're debating between this B&B and anything else in Memphis, you should look no further in our opinion. We would stay with Taryn again in a heartbeat.

  • We thoroughly enjoyed our three day stay with Taryn,

her gourmet breakfasts, her neatness, her warm

hospitality, and her kind consideration of anything

we needed. We would look forward to another stay

in her delightful home if we have another occasion

to be in Memphis, TN. We rate her very highly.

  • Taryn offers the most wonderful Air B & B service. Her service is a prime example of true southern hospitality. The room is beautifully appointed, we felt relaxed and safe. Taryn was there to greet us, and cooks the most mouth watering breakfasts. We felt thoroughly spoiled. She also provided excellent advice about Memphis and the 'must see' attractions, including the special 'off the tourist track' spots that you may not otherwise venture upon. Lovely lady, excellent service, highly recommended.

  • A great host and a lovely house in a nice area of Memphis. Taryn made us feel very welcome and gave us some great suggestions on where to visit and eat. The breakfasts were great, particularly the pancakes. The room was very clean and the bed comfortable, and it was a vey nice touch that Taryn left us a couple of home made cookies each day. In all a very enjoyable stay and would highly recommend.

  • Beautiful and very cozy place! The house smelled like fresh cookies which she serves to you when you arrive. YUM! Taryn was very accommodating and had great suggestions for getting around. She served a very tasty breakfast, so make sure you sign up for that. We would highly recommend her place to anyone that is traveling to Memphis. Her home was truly our home for the 2 nights we were there. Thanks for everything, Taryn! The Iowa Travelers

  • After several hours of driving, I arrived at Taryn's inviting, warm house. I felt as if I were visiting a friend I had known for years. She had candles lit, and offered me homemade Thai soup for dinner. She also invited me to watch a movie, the ever so artistic Triplets of Belleville, and popped fresh popcorn for us. The night was gray and cold and I couldn't have been happier to accept that invitation. The room was spotless, comfortable & beautifully decorated and a midnight snack was left on the desk-one of Taryn's freshly baked cookies & a huge chunk of Swiss chocolate. We had great conversation and the next morning I was off to Mississippi, after a stop at Gus's fried chicken, a recommendation of my gracious host. I'll be back. Thanks Taryn, for making me feel so welcome! And thanks for the freshly squeezed grapefruit juice:).

  • We stayed here a second time on our way back from NOLA. It is a perfect place relax when on the road.

  • Taryn is an excellent host, cook, decorator and tour guide. Her breakfasts were lovely and her cookies delicious. I look for a comfortable bed in a quiet, safe neighborhood when I travel and this is it. Taryn's place is close to everything (we had a car, but I imagine cab rides wouldn't be too bad) and has great southern charm to boot. We booked the Dandelion Package and got the full treatment. I suggest you do the same. Her breakfasts are incredible and healthy. I am going to jog down when I'm in STL next for the fun of it, just because she is so great.

About
I managed a few B&B's for several years before coming to Memphis and thought it would be fun to have my own. Though not exactly the same, there are many perks that are similar. I have a tiny cookie business that keeps me pretty busy and I seem to host almost everyday (lucky) :) Also I'm a session vocalist. But don't worry, I promise not to break out in song while you're here or try to promote my latest music endeavor. My work as a food stylist and catering business owner has served me well over the last few years. It also helps me recommend the best restaurants in not only Memphis but Nashville as well. My diet pretty much consists of organic green juices and cookie dough......yep. it's true! Spain has been my favorite trip so far. My favorite exercise is floating in lakes or the ocean. I guess it doesn't really count as exercise because I'm super buoyant :P I love Tennessee because it's has not one but THREE music cities and that makes it pretty special :)
