The Space

Do you want to experience the real New Orleans?
Then you are home. Suitable space for single traveler or a couple, maximum. One double bed, in a private bedroom of a historical shotgun. Called a shotgun because one could fire a shotgun in the front room, or through the front window, and the bullet would travel out the back of the house without hitting a wall! Washer and Dryer on premise, fully furnished and ready for you.

The neighborhood is the best.
Walk to: Yummy eateries, Clothing optional pool, 24hr bars and grocery.

Guest Access

Our house in the middle of our street (really it is) with street parking on a well lit, safe and friendly road. Royal is the vein of the city, you can find your way home from anywhere.

New Orleans, your oyster....

Interaction with Guests

I have lived in three countries and eight states. I have never lived anywhere as long as I have here in the Big Easy. My love for this city cannot be expressed with words and I'd be happy to show you around or give you tips and advice-- or leave you alone to explore or hideaway with your honey.

The Neighborhood

Bywater is known for being a HUGE artist community filled with musicians, painters, performance artists, photographers and anything else you can think of! Filled with bars, parks great food and friendly people its easy to feel at home whilst seeing new things all around.

Getting around

Getting around? Walk. Bike. Bus. Crawl;)
Depending on how you arrive to the city, you'll easily get home. As for site seeing, New Orleans is not too big and fairly easy to travel without a car.

Other Things to Note

New Orleans has a variety of possibilities.
I'd love to help you find what your looking for!

  • Excellent place, no problem finding it either. Naomi wasn't in town but her roommates were incredibly nice and helpful, and they were all accessible with questions/comments by text. By the way, if you've never been to New Orleans, I strongly suggest you bring or rent a bike to see the city in the best way possible. I might be biased though. ;)

  • Naomi was an amazing host in her funky place and we are so happy that she was able to share it with us! Her recommendations of things to do, where to eat and also her laid back yet welcoming personality made our New Orleans experience so much more memorable! Would recommend this place in a heartbeat

  • Naomi's place was clean and conveniently located. She is a friendly but not intrusive hostess and will be more than happy to help you with anything you may need. Thank you Naomi!

  • Naomi's a total doll and you would be a fool not to stay here. The room is basic but clean and private, and yes, there is wifi. But to be honest, that's kindof besides the point, because the real treasure here is Naomi. She is warm and generous with her time and will introduce you around if that is what you like. If you just want to have some quiet time, that's fine too. Perfect.

  • Naomi rocks! I was expecting a nice room in an interesting neighborhood. Little did I know I would also get a firecracker of a hostess, who immediately took me under her wing in the ways of NOLA. She was welcoming, introduced me to some kick ass folks, and made sure I had fun and felt like I was a part of her crew.

I will totally stay here again the next time I'm in the area! You should too :)

  • Your accommodation search is over this is THE place to stay in New Orleans. I spent the best 5 days staying with Naomi, she is a fab host and so keen to share her love of the city with her guests, it'll enrich anyone's visit. The Bywater is a great location for seeing the city. It's away from the craziness of Bourbon st (30 min walk or 10 min bus) but still a pumping area full of cool bars and shops and of course the country club! Whether you're looking to party or chill Naomi's has it :) I can't wait for my next visit and I've been telling all my friends to stay here!

  • Though comfort and ease are here to be found, you will be so swept up by the warmth of your hosts and their beautiful city you wont have much time to take inventory. Naomi and Donnie keep a beautiful apartment; Comfortable, as private as you choose, and surrounded by amazing and exciting business ventures like a combination doughnut shop and used book store. Staying here one is privy to a parade of potential friends and friendly spirits floating through the kitchen and spilling out into the streets. They will take you the Maple Leaf to hear music, to the Country Club for swimming, they will guide you through their favorite back streets and lead you the best sandwiches you've ever tasted.

Naomi will curate your clothes and coordinate outfits. If you are lucky, you will be witness to the soft feathers of beautiful costumes she makes from inspirations well beyond the realm of most human understanding. You will be led by your nose down the hallway by smells from the slow cooker to excited conversations with Donnie who will provide you an incontestable nightlife itinerary. And at the end of it all, when you are tired and satiated beyond a point you thought you could be, your feet are tired from dancing and walking, you might crawl over to the lost love lounge for game of thrones on the big screen over a bowl of Pho for the soul and a beer ...if you are into that kind of stuff.

I will have wonderful memories of this trip, of this stay, and new friends to think on from time to time.
