Where you’ll be

Baca, Yucatán, Mexico

Baca is a delightful bustling little town, Spanish-speaking with a little Maya and a little English. The local people are friendly and helpful to visitors. Within two blocks you will find a tortillería, a panadería, a platería, a market, a Catholic church, a park, pizza, fresh flowers, and fruit juices. On Saturdays and Sundays, there is often ribs and chicken being sold on the street. Wednesdays and Fridays, there is whole fried fish from the ports of Progreso and Telchac Puerto. There are at least 5 cocina económicas with very tasty fare. There is also a beautiful Thai restaurant right in town.
