Renan came to meet us on arrival, was very nice and helpful. A bottle of wine was set up to greet us. The apartment was clean and cozy, nicely decorated and location was fantastic. My only complaint was the street noise all night long.
The best thing about Renan ' s apartment is the location. Very close and safe walk to Gran Via, as well as easy walk to Puerta del Sol (center of Madrid) and Plaza Mayor. The apartment has a great amount of space and was very cozy. They also provided a bottle of wine, some beers, and water. Beautiful place!
The apartment was just like in the photos, nice, clean, has everything you need and it is wonderful located.
Renan was very kind. When we ask for help with the TV, in two minutes he came and solve the problem. He let us stay in the apartment till we leave to the airport, late in the afternoon. That was really great!
At night, the apartment is a little bit noisy. We can hear the people stepping up and down the stairs.
Besides that, everything was PERFECT!
Very pleasant apartment in an excellent location, just a couple of minutes from Callao metro. Well equipped, clean and cosy.
It was quite noisy on the street outside at night but this didn't bother me at all.
Worth remembering that all of central madrid is quite lively until the early hours.
Check in / out arrangements were simple and easy.
The toilet is electric and doesn't take paper, which can be hard to remember!
overall I would recommend this apartment.
I stayed here for a few days with my girlfriend to explore Madrid and everything was wonderful. The apartment looks just like what you see on the photos, everything being neat and tidy, Renan also left us a welcome package of various drinks which was nice. There was one of his colleagues waiting for us upon arrival and everything was explained in detail. Great choice of location as well, we were right in the centre of Madrid with easy access to all the major sights with an underground station not even 5 minutes away which was also very convenient.
The only downside (really a small one) was as mentioned in a couple other posts, it takes a bit of effort to open the front door of the building to get in. The first night of our stay we couldn't open our door, but we called Renan and someone came in 10 minutes to open it for us and explained what to do, you have to push the key slowly in / out, up / down, left / right, basically wiggling around with it until you hear the clicking sound from the lock.
Apart from that really nothing to complain about, it's a great place and I highly recommend it to anyone wishing to explore Madrid.
Overall, the apartment was great! We were very comfortable and the location was perfect. It was very close to Gran Via and there were many nice cafes/restaurants/shops in the vicinity.
Since we didn't have any international cell service (coming from the states), we used free wifi at the airport to text Renan that we had arrived and then tracked down a payphone (there's one less than a block away) once we were at the apartment to let him know we were at the apartment. He answered after a few rings and someone met us at the door within 2 minutes. No problems! Just as an FYI--it's all one-way streets around the apartment and it was tricky for the cab driver to get to the apartment. He ended up dropping us a few streets over. This could have just been our cab driver, but it's probably best to bring or study a map before arrival if you don't have data on your phone.
As some other people said, Renan left us a nice starter kit of some cokes, water, and wine--a really nice gesture! Also as reported, we did struggle with the outside door lock the first few times until we got the hang of it. One set of keys simply would not work for us, but we only needed to angle the key on the other set upwards to get the lock to work for us.
It was a little noisy at night, particularly on the weekend. I'm a pretty heavy sleeper, but ended up wearing earplugs so as not to be disturbed.
I would definitely stay there again and recommend it to anyone traveling to Madrid!
