Cute cottage within walking distance of historic Monterey. Separate bedroom with queen size bed, kitchen with complete set of dishes and cookware, washer-dryer, cable TV, Netflix and WiFI. All sheets and bedding, towels included. Private off street parking. Pet and kid friendly!

The space
Enjoy a bit of history! The cottage along with the main house was built by William Randolph Hearst by his architect Julia Morgan as a way station between San Francisco and Hearst Castle. The main house was occupied twice by Dwight D. Eisenhower: once in 1939 upon his return from the Philippines, and again in 1952 after the Republican convention in San Francisco to plan out his future cabinet with John Foster Dulles.

Guest access
Guests are welcome to park within the gates of the estate, and access the cottage which is beyond the garden gate on the left side of the main house.

Lives in Monterey, California
Hi! My wife and I have lived all over the world, but the Monterey Peninsula is our favorite place. We love the weather, wildlife, atmosphere, and the history in particular. We often drive from Point Lobos down the coast to remind ourselves of what a stunningly beautiful area this is. We also love our neighborhood in Alta Mesa, which according to the city of Monterey is the oldest surviving neighborhood in California. Every house, it seems, is a veritable history lesson in itself!
