About this listing
Want to be in the heart of the marina of Riomaggiore with great sea views? If so, the Giovanna studio could be the perfect place for you! Just steps from the sea, the beach, the ferry landing and great restaurants. Location, location, location!
A studio located in the heart of the marina of Riomaggiore. The studio offers a queen-size bed and a single bed, a private bathroom with shower, A/C, and a kitchenette (two burners, a sink & mini fridge) for simple cooking. The windows open out right onto the water and marina offering great views!
The studio is steps from the water and one or two minutes walking from Riomaggiore's rocky beach. The main street (where you'll find shops, grocery markets, etc.) is just two to three minutes away on foot.
Please note that WiFi is NOT available in the studio, but there are plenty of places nearby (bars, restaurants, etc.) that offer it.
As I have a toddler at home I ask that all guests please arrive for check-in no later than 5pm on their day of arrival. Thanks for your understanding! :)
Other Things to Note
Please note that I will accept a one-night stay *only* if you see on my calendar that there is a "hole" for just one night between existing reservations. Grazie!
Our local city government has recently adopted a new "city tax" (known in Italian as "tasso di soggiorno"). The city tax is applies to those staying in Riomaggiore between March 1st and October 31st and the tax is 1 euro per person, per day (for a max. of 3 days). You will need to pay this tax to us directly upon arrival, in cash (as we will then have to fill out the proper forms and submit the tax to city hall).
No smoking is permitted in the studio.
Only registered guests are permitted inside the property.
Please be respectful of your neighbors and fellow residents of Riomaggiore by keeping noise to a minimum in the stairwell and studio in the evening and late night hours.
Before checking out all dishes must be washed and all garbage must be placed in the bins.
The white bath towels are NOT for beach use (as they stain and will be ruined!). You can purchase beach towels in one of the shops in the village.
Fantastic stay! Amy & Francesco's Giovanna Studio was very well located on the Riomaggiore marina with a stunning picturesque view. Amy kept in contact with us before our arrival by train from La Spezia and was very quick to respond with train schedules and tips on purchasing train tickets faster. Francesco greeted us at their office and handed us a very helpful printout of information about Cinque Terre including recommendations on places to eat and where to find free WiFi. The studio itself was very clean and well kept, but small in some areas. Also, the marina can be busy at times and can become noisy at night but the soothing sounds of the crashing waves make up for it. If the studio provided internet in the future, that would be ideal. Riomaggiore is a great town to stay in for those thinking of traveling to Cinque Terre, however, the hiking trails between Riomaggiore, Manarola and Corniglia were closed at the time due to landslides which forced us to take trains in-between those towns to get around. These trains were often delayed and packed which was a little frustrating. Nevertheless, my and my wife's 3 day/3 night stay in Cinque Terre was incredible and unforgettable. Thanks again to Amy & Francesco for hosting us! Grazie!
Great location, clean, small studio with sunset view. Check in and out easy. No WiFi
We absolutely loved our stay at this studio overlooking the dock. Amy was in touch with tips prior to our trip. Francesco met with us at their office (just up the street) upon our arrival, gave us additional sightseeing info and walked us to the studio.
The location is second to none, with a window overlooking the little harbor. We left the shutters open at night and fell asleep to the sound of crashing waves and, one night, enjoyed listening to a resident play guitar on a balcony across the street. The station is a fairly quick walk – up the street/hill and a couple short flights of stairs and take the first left through the tunnel.
The studio is small (it's a studio!), but clean and well-appointed, with quite a decently-sized bathroom, a small kitchenette and lots of cabinet space.
Riomaggiore is utterly quaint, beautiful and relaxing. It is one of five towns comprising Cinque Terre. We recommend hopping the train to visit the four other towns (Manarola, Corniglia, Vernazza and Monterosso al Mare). It's less than 5 minutes between each town, and completely worth it to explore, see and taste the unique offerings of each. Francesco will help with any questions you may have regarding getting around.
Thank you! It was a pleasure to stay in your appartment in Cinque Terre! It was extremely smooth to do buisiness with Amy and Francesco, they even provided us with a power outlet adapter as our was lost in missing luggages. The appartment exceeded our expectations, in terms of location and space. It was very comfortable.
Amy and Francesco were delightful hosts and went out of their way to assist us settling into the apartment. They were also very helpful with advice on train schedules and printing a boarding pass for our next flight. They were most generous with their time which we really appreciated.
Their were quite a few steps getting from the station to the apartment but once there, you had an amazing view of the marina and ocean, watching the ferries come and go and the fishermen getting their boats ready.
There was everything in the apartment that we needed though would have appreciated a toaster.
I would love to stay here again and maybe when I do, wifi might be available though there are several places around where this is currently available
