Pretty Standard Double Room in a quiet central position in this lovely town. You have world famous Betty's Cafe and the Turkish Baths just across the road. Station is 5-10mins walk.
Welcome to this comfortable double room.
The house is in the centre of the Spa town of Harrogate. We are just across the road, 1min. from both the Turkish Baths and the famous Betty’s café. The rooms are comfortable and quiet and there is a spacious bathroom on each floor.
For those of you who are exhibiting at the Conference Centre or performing at the Royal Hall they are at the bottom of the hill, 5 mins walk, or if you are performing at the Wesley Chapel it is 1 minute away. There is also a theatre, cinema, and numerous restaurants and bars within 5 minutes walk of the house.
Breakfast is usually a selection of seasonal fruits either fresh fruit salad or poached, with cereals and yoghurt, followed by scrambled egg and smoked salmon, poached egg and spinach, or boiled eggs, and then toast and marmalade, jam, marmite, or honey, really, lots to choose from!
First we are opposite Betty's, famous for delicious pastries and coffee or light meals, and then there are any number and a huge variety of restaurants within 5 minutes walk of the house. Dinner? In Harrogate? No problem!
There is a TV, internet, radio, hairdryer, and tea and coffee in all the rooms or by arrangement, and use of an iron and ironing board if needed.
There is a lane by the house where you can load and unload and then parking for one car by the house. If you would like to come by train, the station is 10 minutes walk away.
Harrogate is in the middle of the Dales with glorious wild walks from hilltop villages like Middlesmoor, where, it is rumoured, Lytton Strachey once stayed at The Crown. If you prefer a more serene splendour there is the National Trust’s Fountains Abbey where you could walk to Studley Royal along the water-side and back along the wooded banks, and the Woodland Trust has restored Hackfall Wood, a must for those of a romantic frame of mind. If you love gardens, the RHS gardens at Harlow Carr are only an hour’s walk from the house. Harrogate’s famous Stray is across the road for a morning or an evening stroll.
Rachel was kind, responsive and generous throughout our stay. The room was wonderfully presented, the breakfast was luxurious and conversation with her was very interesting and fun from start to finish. Never a dull moment and lots of happy memories. Thank you!
Staying at Rachel's was definitely the right idea and I can really recommend her. The place is right in the center of town, don't think you can get anywhere closer. It's spacious and has a nice character which makes you feel at home.
Rachel was lovely and did everything she could to make us feel comfortable, that included a superb breakfast the other day.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay with Rachel, our room was both comfortable and quiet. Breakfast was a real treat with a fantastic choice of fruit, cereals, eggs (cooked to your liking) and gorgeous breads for toast. Rachel's house is beautifully presented with many interesting artworks adorning the walls. The property itself is very well situated, minutes from the town centre and convention centre. We would definitely recommend a stay with Rachel and hope to return when next in Harrogate.
The location was excellent being in the centre of the town. Rachel was a friendly hostess and very hospitable providing us with refreshments upon our arrival. The room was clean to a high standard. I would definitely recommend for those visiting.
The room and house were lovely and Rachel made me feel very welcome. The breakfast was delicous and Rachel offered numerous options. I would be very happy to stay here again
You couldn't be more central in this elegant room with huge well appointed bathroom. A good nights sleep in a most comfortable bed followed by a great breakfast! Rachel went out of her way to be helpful and friendly and we would recommend her as an excellent host.
We enjoyed such a wonderful stay at Rachel's house. She made us feel welcome, the house was beautiful, lovely towels, soap, and luxurious bedsheets! Rachel also made us a delicious 2 course breakfast complete with fresh fruit and a choice of eggs. Would certainly recommend.
Harrogate is lovely - first time there. Wouldn't really want to do a Saturday night there, but a Sunday pint in Major Tom's retro and vintage shop and bar was great.

I have two grown up children and three grandchildren I very much enjoy helping with on occasion. Passionate about the arts particularly textiles and Renaissance paintings, I like visiting places that have a range of period properties and ancient churches, the whole of history how it went and where we are now fascinates me. Politics too.
