Lovely large room with Kingsize Double bed, writing table, sofa, arm chair, and TV. You also have all Harrogate's wonderful amenities within 5 minutes walk from the house including cafes, Turkish Baths, theatres and gardens.
Welcome to this comfortable double room.
The house is in the centre of the Spa town of Harrogate. We are just across the road, 1min. from both the Turkish Baths and the famous Betty’s café. The rooms are comfortable and quiet and there is a spacious bathroom on each floor.
For those of you who are exhibiting at the Conference Centre or performing at the Royal Hall they are at the bottom of the hill, 5 mins walk, or if you are performing at the Wesley Chapel it is 1 minute away. There is also a theatre, cinema, and numerous restaurants and bars within 5 minutes walk of the house.
Breakfast is usually a selection of seasonal fruits either fresh fruit salad or poached, with cereals and yoghurt, followed by scrambled egg and smoked salmon, poached egg and spinach, or boiled eggs, and then toast and marmalade, jam, marmite, or honey, really, lots to choose from!
First we are opposite Betty's, famous for delicious pastries and coffee or light meals, and then there are any number and a huge variety of restaurants within 5 minutes walk of the house. Dinner? In Harrogate? No problem!
There is a TV, radio, hairdryer, and tea and coffee in all the rooms or by arrangement, and use of an iron and ironing board if needed.
There is a lane by the house where you can load and unload and then parking for one car by the house. If you would like to come by train, the station is 10 minutes walk away.
Harrogate is in the middle of the Dales with glorious wild walks from hilltop villages like Middlesmoor, where, it is rumoured, Lytton Strachey once stayed at The Crown. If you prefer a more serene splendour there is the National Trust’s Fountains Abbey where you could walk to Studley Royal along the water-side and back along the wooded banks, and the Woodland Trust has restored Hackfall Wood, a must for those of a romantic frame of mind. If you love gardens, the RHS gardens at Harlow Carr are only an hour’s walk from the house. Harrogate’s famous Stray is across the road for a morning or an evening stroll.
Rachel was really welcoming and friendly. Our room was beautiful - exactly as described. It was clean and very comfortable. The B&B is in an excellent location in the town centre minutes from places such as the Turkish baths and Betty's Tea Rooms. Breakfast was delicious. We'd definitely stay here again next time we visit Harrogate.
Rachel was a very welcoming host and her baked pears alone are worth the trip to Harrogate! In terms of location, the B&B couldn't be more central.
Rachel made us feel most welcome - a wonderful host - attentive, interesting/interested - without being overly intrusive .
Rachels homely period home is in a fantastic location- less than a minute from Bettys Tea Rooms yet nicely 'tucked away' - so no noise. Lovely front garden with seating. We found the room to be tastefully furnished, understated and comfortable with an excellent bed and mattress- great shower power in bathroom. Our breakfast was a real delight- summer fruits /berries, baked figs, a range of breads............
A real find and we can't wait to return!
Please read my review from the same time as this stay in the Tulip Room, as I visited this place with 4 others so we took 3 rooms.
My comments about the Kilim Room is that it is my favourite with plenty of space to relax on the comfy settee, loads of light from the 2 big windows, a nice big plush bed, massive mirror for getting ready and a neat tv, if you have any time to watch it that is!
Thanks again Rachel.
Rachael was a lovely hostess. Breakfast was excellent as was the location. We would certainly like to stay here again.
Rachel was really welcoming and friendly, and the room was beautiful - exactly as pictured - and clean and comfortable. The B&B is in a really convenient location in the town centre and is a lovely house. Breakfast was a lovely feast laid out by Rachel. We'd definitely stay here again. Thanks Rachel :)
Listing was as described, ideal location and very comfortable room. Rachel was an excellent host and the breakfast was absolutely delicious. Would recommend for anyone looking for a place in central Harrogate within walking distance of the station, Betty's and some excellent food and shopping.

I have two grown up children and three grandchildren I very much enjoy helping with on occasion. Passionate about the arts particularly textiles and Renaissance paintings, I like visiting places that have a range of period properties and ancient churches, the whole of history how it went and where we are now fascinates me. Politics too.
