The Space

People who stay with us are usually on holiday so our home is relaxed and unhurried. There are so many things to do, great walks, fishing, water sports, historical sites, and monastic islands. We are 4 miles from Pettigoe and have guests stay with us on their way to join the pilgrimage at Lough Derg Retreat. Or maybe you are attending a wedding on Lusty Beg Island, we are just 2 miles away and an ideal place to stay.

Guest Access

We have our own private slipway and jetty for guests to use if they bring their own boat or jet ski. At the shore there is a changing area, bar b que area and a small beach. We also have an area where a camp fire can be lit.
We offer water skiing and wake board lessons to beginners and improvers. Canoes are available as are boat and jet ski trips. You can fish from the many fishing stands around the lake, or go with a guy (a gillie) that knows where to catch the best fish.

Interaction with Guests

We love meeting people and are happy to share information and suggestions on great places to visit or eat in the area.

The Neighborhood

Lough Erne is the longest inland waterway in Europe and runs from Belleek right down to Limerick. We are right on the border of NI and ROI. 22 miles from Donegal town 18 miles from Enniskillen. In just 1/2 hour you can be at the ocean, miles of golden sands, and one of the best surfing beaches around.

Getting around

We are right out in the sticks. Our nearest village is three miles away and public transport is very limited. You really need a car and we have good safe off road parking facilities,

Other Things to Note

Our bright sunny conservatory is for the exclusive use of our guests at any time of the day. Breakfast is served here usually between 8 and 10am. Then between 5pm and 7pm we provide coffee/tea and home baked cake for guests to serve themselves. This is a great opportunity to meet other guests and exchange travelers tales.

  • Ann and Sam were warm and wonderful hosts, and their B&B was quiet, charming and restful. Room was small but tidy, clean, well-kept and the bed was quite comfortable. They listened well to my interests, and suggested perfect activities for sights to see and a great spot for dinner. Highly recommended, and I'd love to come back someday.

  • Great room, wonderful view, very quiet, lovely hosts, nice breakfast. We even had a boat ride on the Lough Erne with Sam. You need a car to get there. The two dogs are well trained. I definitely recommend this place.

  • I stayed to Anne &Sam's house for 1 night. I really enjoyed staying there, I felt like home. Anne was not there but I had the pleasure to meet Sam and he was really lovely and helpful for everything. Kindness in Irish people is definitely true! The room was comfortable and warm. The breakfast was huge and delicious. If you want to go out, you will need a car, the centre is about 7mins drive. Nothing to say except you MUST stop there when in Northern Ireland.

  • A pleasant B&B on the beautiful lake. Ann and Sam are charming, generous hosts. They also run a water sports concession, so we were treated to a world class wake boarding stunt performance and a zodiac ride to White Island to view the stones. A little confusion with our last minute booking put us in a room with 2 twins instead of a double. We ate dinner in the bar at the private resort on Lusty Beg, which was only OK. Food in the Dinner Restaurant at the club probably better, but it was (website hidden) staff were friendly. Plus you get to take a short ferry ride at sunset for free! Be sure to visit the Janus Stone in the nearby pasture. Overall, a very enjoyable stay!

  • What a fantastic experience it was staying with Anne and Sam. From the minute we arrived to the moment we left we both felt totally welcome and very well looked after. Anne`s knowledge on local attractions, which we visited , made our stay more enjoyable. The house and room we stayed in was wonderful as was the perfect location. The traditional breakfast got 10 out of 10 and really set us up for the day. We can`t think of anywhere else we would want to stay on our next visit to Lough Erne, Thanks so much Anne and Sam

Anne, After running an International Business and traveling the world I am happy to have "retired" to Fermanagh, back to my roots and indulge those homemaking skills of baking, jam making and sewing. My husband Sam's indulgence is having his boat at his own back door while "retirement" means 10 years as voluntary Life Boat Operations Manager with the RNLI Enniskillen, one of the busiest stations in Ireland. We have five children and soon to be eight grandchildren who all love the outdoor life, camping out on islands, making breakfast over an open fire, messing about in boats. When you live by the water, every day looks different. Each morning when we get up and look out of the window we feel truly blessed to live in such a beautiful place. My favorite motto is "Find something you enjoy doing and get someone to pay you to do it" while Sam practical as ever has a favorite saying "the water of life is free, but you have to pay for the buckets"
