The space

All rooms have private full bathrooms, garden views, comfortable double beds, wireless internet. Located in a quiet, but vibrant artsy neighborhood. Close to Fabrica La Aurora, Via Organica, galleries. Seven minute walk to the Jardin and Centro. The house has a relaxed vibe, guests can catch up on sleep, and pajamas are encouraged at breakfast!

Beautiful, spacious, clean airy home in a fun neighborhood. Nice linens, large showers, plenty of natural light, front patio. Every room has it’s own private bathroom, reading lights, a view of the garden, wireless internet. There are communal sitting areas both inside and outside. A breakfast with fruit, yogurt, coffee, tea, pan dulce, and eggs is served everyday and guests are encouraged to come in their pajamas if they wish! On Sundays, Marcia makes a special breakfast dish of baked apples and yogurt.

We welcome all guests no matter their race, sex, gender, or sexual preferences. However, we don’t accept any supporters of Donald Trump.

Guest access

Guests have access to a shared refrigerator and are welcome to make light use of the kitchen. Front and back patios are open to everyone. There is an extra bathroom on the main floor.

Interaction with guests

When guests arrive, Marcia (the host) helps guests get oriented with a quick tour of the neighborhood. Marcia is also present at breakfast and can answer any questions guests may have, as well as give suggestions of where to go and where to eat. Marcia loves hosting visitors from all over the world and from all different walks of life, and to share her beloved colonia and city.

The neighborhood

Colonia Guadalupe is one of the most vibrant and funky parts of San Miguel de Allende. The streets are filled with murals and street art. There are boutiques and galleries, including the beautiful Fabrica La Aurora. Nearby are delicious restaurants like Gombo’s Pizza and Via Organica, a super hip smoothie joint, and charming cafes. The heart of the city, the Jardin and Centro, is just a ten minute walk away. San Miguel is a UNESCO World Heritage site, with art and language classes, theater, music and film festivals, hot spring spas, gourmet dining, and much more!

Getting around

It is easiest to get around San Miguel on foot, but there are many options. The city taxis are painted green and fares around the city range from 35-50 pesos; if you wish to go outside the city the fare increases. In May 2016, Uber arrived in San Miguel. There are still not many drivers, especially during busy times, but it’s another option for guests. Buses to Centro stop at the corner and come frequently. Wedding venues are easily accessible.

Marcia is the best! We had an excellent weekend. Her place is wonderful, it's really comfortable, a very nice house and it's only 10 minutes away from the main square. The breakfast she made us was delicious. Definitely we'll come back!

Marcia's BnB is actually a boutique store with rooms, which she lets out. It's on a quiet street, about 7 minutes walk to Downtown. While we didn't face any deal breaker issues, there are a couple of things to keep in mind about this property. 1. The tap water is not suitable for brushing your teeth, and water for the same is not provided. So you'll need to buy your own drinking and teeth brushing water. 2. Breakfast is average. Unfortunately, during our three day stay they ran out of items, as well as served us leftovers from the previous day's breakfast. 3. Guests are expected to wash their own dishes, which came as a surprise to us since this is a commercially run establishment. 4. We were asked to leave a tip for the maid, though we didn't receive any services from any maid (no cleaning/ turn down/ cooking etc). We didn't. Apart from these random, niggling issues, there was nothing major to spoil our stay. Marcia is a fun, animated host who made us laugh.

This home is in a quiet neighborhood among many locals. It is quiet and you get a chance to live among the local Mexicans. Marcia is a very amenable hostess and quite the talkative character. The breakfast was average but plentiful. The main needed improvement is that there needs to be an area to sit and relax other than sitting on the bed in the bedroom. If planning to stay here, make plans to be away from the house most of the time as there is no comfortable area to relax. The price is about right for what you get.

Marcia is a wonderful hostess. She is welcoming and joyful. The room was spacious, private bath and free WIFI. Bed was comfortable and the location was perfect. It was within walking distance to El Hardin, shops and restaurants. Enjoyed my stay there and would stay again.

Highly recommended! Marcia was a very friendly and hospitable host who welcomed us at 4 am as we were late from Mexico city. The next morning she took us on tour around all those beautiful arts galleries located at the old factory redesigned to host local and international artists. And she is very accommodating and talkative in a friendly way so that you finally end up sitting in a kitchen for hours and listening all her life stories. She's been living in San Miguel for over 20 years and knows a huge lot of local arts people. Marcia also runs her own clothes and hats shop where you can come across a lot of artistic objects and designer's clothes. Next time we will be in town I would definitely stay with her again.
