The listing was exactly as described; no surprises. Access to the city was easy walking distance. Marcia was easy going and laid back. We went to a wedding and she let me use her old/expensive/and pretty pashmina. The listing was accurate and the neighborhood is very central to all parts of San Miguel. I would most definitely stay there again. Thank you Marcia!!
Marcia is a very loving host. She took me out for a short tour when I first arrived and showed me the neighborhood. I was a bit sick and she tried very hard to find the right medicine for me. She does provide breakfast but it's very basic, so manage your expectation. I was surprised that she has a store right in the middle of the living room. There are customers come in and out sometime, so not as private as I thought it would be. The honeymoon room don't have Internet but the rest of the house does. Location of the place is pretty good.
Unfortunately it wasn't a nice experience, there were various problems:
The host was unreachable, the place had no electric power nor the first night and the next morning. She left for a party and left a guy trying to fix it but apart from him there was no one else in charge, the problem was not fixed, there were gutters as well. The host had said it was pretty close to the zocalo (main plaza) which is not accurate at all it is quite far (15/20 minutes walk) when she had said it was 4 blocks away. It is not in a nice area if you want to walk at night. Overall not a good experience the place did not feel very clean will not be staying there again.
Also the place was being repaired and the host never mentioned that.
My wife and I had a great week at Marcia Dolce's beautiful home in San Miguel. The location was great, too, an easy walk to the jardin, the artisans market, the Fabrica and dozens of great restaurants. Marcia is a fantastic host and she made our first trip to San Miguel a wonderful experience. We will be coming back soon.
Marcia is a hoot and a great host. I felt very comfortable and welcomed in my 5 night solo trip to San Miguel. The B&B was cute, quiet, clean and a good deal for the price paid. I would def come back! The location was perfect and very walkable. Breakfast was somewhat more basic (granola, yogurt, fruit & coffee) than the photos might lead you to believe, but again, for the price, it was a good deal. I am very happy with my stay! Susan, a lady who also helps run the place, was also great. Hope to come back with the hubby!
So glad I found this place. I had an amazing comfortable stay. The place is better than described, located in a great neighborhood close to town and Marcia made me feel at home. I highly recommend her B and B anyone that wants to be close to town but without the noise of downtown. Thanks again Marcia! Saludos!
